Brit who bought a cut-price island in the Seychelles 50 years ago... and still lives

heres the 1.2 hr documentary on him and the island ( a grain of sand ,2009 ). Very good watch, goes into detail about how people want to turn it into a tourist destination for the rich, and how others say there is a need to preserve it when he dies.

not sure I could do it myself... living there alone wouldn't be for me personally - would certainly be an interesting short term experience but not sure I could live like that permanently.

owning a share in a slightly larger island would be cool - seem to be some of them about where each owner gets a plot of land and is jointly responsible for the shared facilities like a small airstrip, hotel etc... then again it tends to cost 7-8 figures to become an owner of one of those places...

Gosh a Dailyfail article that wasnt full of scaremongering, Knee jerk reactions and a slight dash of racism

Onto the matter at hand though it was a really nice read. Looks gorgeous beyond belief...was going to say id rather have my internet however it seems he already has it. On that note how about we organise an OCUK coup d'etat and claim it for ourselves.

Actually scratch that as the guy seems like he really cares and has put a heck of a lot of work into it...The islands owned by the saudi princes etc however hmmmm. ;)
