Whoops!!! Epic parking mishap.

Looking at the gap he has I'd say there's more room down there than in some NCP car parks.

I'm going to be all unpopular and side with hurfdurf on this one. Some of the attitudes displayed in Motors and GD make for somewhat uncomfortable reading. Especially the off-hand dismissal of any complaint that something might be *-ist in any way.

No I agree with Hurf as well - there are some right **** heads on here and their casual flippancy with things like sexism and racism are unfortunately a clear reflection on their mental capacity. Racism and sexism even in a joking manner are still racism and sexism.

LOL

Equality goes both ways, the way women and the media portray the stupid, clumsy sex obsessed man is frankly ridiculous but you know what, it's all banter.

If the women stop, I'll stop - but I'm not blinking first ;)

That's funny because women used to get much cheaper car insurance than men based on stats and evidence before equality measures bumped us all to the same rate.

That wouldn't constitute proof that on average women are better (or even just not terrible depending on how you define that phrase) drivers though, at best it's an argument that they're less of an insurance risk i.e. they require less paid out in claims for them. For the sake of argument if 4/10 female drivers have an accident that costs £50 to the insurance company because they're relatively low speed and damage (ignoring the excess for the moment) but 2/10 men have an accident at much higher speeds which costs an average of £500 then who will the insurance company prefer to insure?

The point being that statistics and insurance prices can be influenced by much more than a crude comparison would show.

For what it's worth I'm not a big fan of casual misogyny (is that better or worse than directed misogyny) but as Telescopi points out it's not just men who indulge in careless stereotyping of the other gender. Stating that doesn't make it better but let's recognise that it's not purely a one way thing - obviously on a heavily male dominated forum you're more likely to see examples of misogyny than you would on a heavily female dominated forum but there you might easily see the reverse.

Select reverse, look behind, drive out?

It looks as if it may be balanced on the step though so there may be not enough traction at the wheels.

You might have thought that if there's a kerb there that would have been a sign to the driver not to proceed but I can't tell from the pictures if it is a dropped kerb.

It was his father's car too - a Vauxhall Chevette - and when his dad turned up he walked straight up to his son and punched him square in the face, right in front of the attending police.

Shouldn't the son have been congratulated for removing a Chevette from the roads? :p

Well I have a female neighbour who rings me when she gets stuck parking out front, I run out there in my slippers & park for her, Bless. :D

Don't even know why I told you lot that.

So ignoring the idea of punching from the bottom, your argument is that because people are sexist or racist towards you, it's OK to be sexist or racist to everyone from that gender or race.

Nice one, brilliant logic there.

What happened to the thread where the car got parked in the subway?

People started being misogynistic idiots and it was called out.

I'm sick of everyone complaining about being forever alone, and then sitting on their computers 20 hours a day posting about how all women are bitches who won't give them the time of day. The undertones of misogyny that invade every gender-based discussion are sickening.

Make me mod and this kind of thing wouldn't happen :p

We were actually talking about making OcUK motors t-shirts today.

With awesome slogans on them such as "2.0 Mondeo FTMFW" and "hurfdurf 4 mod", then we realised the MOQ was 50 and that we probably wouldn't sell many :p

Should have went up and congratulated him for ruining a god awful car.

You do know what misogyny means hatred of girls, right?

There's making sexist jokes and then there's pure hatred of females... most of the people here will be gynophobic rather than misogynists :p

And I was the first one with the sexist joke so I assume you are calling me a misogynist.. something which you are so very wrong about ;)
