2 x 128GB vs 1 x 256GB SSD for OS?

Hi guys,

I recently had a 128GB SSD for my OS, but I needed more space, so I thought I should get a 256GB, all easy so far, but as I can get 2 x 128GBs slightly cheaper than a single 256GB drive, is it worth getting 2?

Now my OS will be fine on the one 128GB and when I start running out of space (game folders expanding etc) I can just use the other 128GB drive, or is this false reasoning? Has anyone swapped from one to the other and/or prefered one way over the other, and why?

Hope that makes sense?

Cheers :D

Part of the reason I went with 2x 256GB drives is so that if one broke I could rma it and not be without a working OS drive (I can restore an image to the remaining drive from backup).

This is what I do. OS and programs installed on the first, games on the 2nd.

Would you still have 2 drives if you only had 2 x 128s as opposed to your 2 x 256s?

I've just bought 2 x 128s for £95 each (new & sealed) but I can get a single 256gb direct from the manufacturer for about a £1 more?

Well I've gone in reverse mode and now ordered the 256gb, it's got better specs than the 128s and if I run out of OS space on the 128 then it's curtains but at least with the 256gb it won't happen any time soon :)

Thanks for all the input chaps :)
