Arenanet have stated that American keys are a seperate region to EU keys.

THe links they reference to have nothing to do with the US / EU keys, those are just login issues, the region lock is only apparent if you try and use the cash store.

They have this on their facebook page.

"Anyone who thinks they received USA region version of Guild Wars 2, this is not the case. Nevertheless, contact Guild Wars 2 support and they will be happy to swap your key to an EU region key."

So is it NcSoft or GW2 Support we contact? It's a bit lame to be honest.

Go to the cash store (the gem icon in the top left corner), click on 'Get more gems' , select the beta special and you should be presented with a box to input your billing address. If you have an EU version you'll see EU countries in the dropdown list. If you haven't you'll see something like this.

I contacted GW2 support right through the account website, still no reply.

Hopefully they can just switch it from US to EU, and then theres no problem at all. Can get the free gems any time as long as you played the beta.
 
Now ive got over the low fps I'm really starting to enjoy it. The freedom to wander and find random stuff is great. The combat feels pretty good although as already said there are definite issues with melee being too weak/hard.

I could sit and watch the fountain in lions arch for ages :D Can't wait for people being gathered around there during events.

Well, I just finished the norn story line quests (up to where they stop it in the beta), Finished the level 19 quest as a level 15 guardian :D

In a 1 on 1 fight, where the enemy is melee only, simply circle strafing the enemy and using snares/roots makes even mobs that can kill you in 2 or 3 hits easy (although still time consuming).

One issue I had while playing, has anyone found out how to be trained to use adept level traits? I had 5 or 6 trait points and couldn't use any of them as it said I lacked adept (the very lowest) training and so I'm missing out on some stuff.

Bring up character menu (H). Click bottom tab with two-crossed swords (PvP Menu). Click 'Enter Mists'. Go into PvP mists and there is a portal at the end of it that takes you out to Lion's Arch. Take portal out and load Lion's Arch. Right next to the spot where you load into the town are other portals: one for each home-base and one for the middle Battlegrounds. Take your pick :)

Yeh, find your class trainer in any major town. Little books on the map. Costs 10 silver I think for adept level training.
 
When I was looking for a key I had a look at the CJs site and right there on the page was a sentence to the effect that keys weren't region locked and would work anywhere, or something to that effect. It's changed now, but they obviously hadn't a clue when they started selling them.
 
So I've been playing as thief and I'm quite dissapointed. I'm not going to go into detail because I really can not be bothered with it.

I'm going to try the other classes and if I'm equally dissapointed I will be selling my account. :(
 
Quite enjoying it so far, Divinity's Reach is really well done, and absolutely huge. My only gripe as a guardian is that his buff radius is tiny, I hardy ever manage to actually shield or buff anyone.

The PvP zones look really well done too, and are absolutely massive with tons of objectives, but time will tell how well it all flows with lots of people zerging.

Edit - the fact that you can't go 1st person is driving the mmo photographer in me insane :p

When I click the gem store it says I am not logged in so I click to login and then it says login failure.

Anyone else seeing that?
 
I've not really ever played MMOs before and rarely play much RPG, so my understanding of all the possibilities and the way an MMO works isn't great but i'm really enjoying myself so far.

So much i need to learn about this type of game though to get a proper understanding, at the moment i feel like im bypassing some things as my habbit is to do the standard single player rpg style thing and just keep on playing the main story line. I like how the story splits off in different tangents depending on your choices, for example i had the option of letting a guy live or die earlier in my story, chose for him to live which resulted in him fleeing and joining the enemy which made up the next set of missions.

Feel like i'd be happy to restart playing with a new character and new story this way, whereas previous similar games i've played i've not bothered making other characters because i couldn't be beothered doing the same missions over and over....... hopefully all that makes sense?

I can tell im going to be hooked on this though, missus has already had a go at me for spending too long on my pc and i keep getting that feeling that i want to load the game back up whenever i close it :p

They are region locked to US and EU, but arenanet support should be able to change your region.

The only reason for the region split was to prevent EU players from purchasing US keys at lower prices, which is what CJS keys seem to have done, but as long as its legit and the key paid for, Arenanet will have to swap your region lock.

I just did the giant boar group event 10-15 mins ago, that was insanely fun with a huge near invincible piggeh running around at lightning speed squealing and shrieking really loud :D
 
Does anyone know of a way to increase the camera distance? It's far from a big deal for me but it's a little bit close even at maximum.

I keep getting "you need to log in to use this"
Then you enter your email address and Password and click sign in (screen in box goes all pixelated) and fails to log in....??? jeez
