***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

HP maybe, but where does it say that the Nexus charges inductively?

It charges via the pogo pins with the landscape dock not via micro usb.

Exactly... that is not inductively... that is the same as plugging it in.

It is like me fitting larger wheels to my car and saying that it can now fly :p

Oh well, I thought it was just a case of not having to plug anything into the phone to charge it.

I have a touchstone and whilst it doesn't require any pogo pins they're used similarly, both devices rest on their docks.

Sorry guys :(

I think the real deal will quite possibly blow everyone away :p

I'm still hoping they have some sort of link to Google Glasses with the S3 or perhaps wireless charging or something else that sets it apart from any other phone!

I wondered the same thing about the Google Glasses bit!
Wireless charging would be a God-send :)

I very much doubt that the gs 3 will have google glasses as well, as it is a google/android thing by Google and so Google will want to show it off on their next nexus device along with jellybean, not a device which isn't branded with google's name and isn't running their stock android software.

Unless Samsung have paid Google a lot of money (and I mean a lot! :p) to use it, then just maybe.........! :p

Is this just a guess?!

What makes you certain it wont?!

Firstly google glasses is purely a google thing. Secondly, google glasses are only in prototype stages and most sources say they won't be commercially available until at least the end of 2012. It makes zero sense to think that the s3 will have any special support for them.

Surely they're gonna cost serious wedge when they first hit the high street, like as much if not more than an s3 anyway, surely?? you think?? Has a price been released?

As said above by AGD it is still very early tech. and none of us will know just how much they will cost for the time being, could cost from £100-500 and be free for just the new nexus owners or free for the first 200 owners of the nexus or something like that! :p

When the product is finalized, you can expect it to be announced along with the new nexus device and the new version of android, can't see it being released for another year or 2 at the minimum though.

My glasses frame cost more than that without any lens and they're nothing special, these are gonna have serious micro tech and connectivity in them and amazing lenses, I'm thinking they'll be about a grand off early adopter sites when they're first released.

I said any where from 100-500 :p

Could be that much for the first month or so to to cash in from the people who have more money than sense :p and then drop considerably to get the rest of the world on board.

I would be very surprised if they are any where near that much permanently though, if they are, then it won't be a successful project at all. Very few people, only the absolute die hard tech. fans that have money would buy them, I can only see like 1 or 2 people from this forum buying them and Google will want everyone who owns an android mobile to be using these for every day of their life :p and to be considered the "norm".

Here is a picture of what they look like in their early stages:
