Guild Wars 2

cjs keys gave everyone US keys that only affect the free gems.

they have sent emails to those of us who contacted their support to say

Dear Sir,

we are very sorry for this issue. We are currently contacting suppliers regarding the issue and will make sure that you receive the correct region key
it also states somewhere on their site they will offer refunds..

Mesmer is by far the best fun, once I had figured out the illusions and clones malarkay. The Signet of Inspiration is a nice passive which grants random boon's every 10secs, things like speed burst - reflect attacks - crit chance - armour buffs etc etc

just about to train my skills up with a Mighty Trident !! :p

From here - relevant part highlighted anyone know about this:

Right now you can do this:
-If you are friends with someone and they are on your friend list, you can right click their name and then join them if they are IN a game. Or, you can go to the PvP lobby, talk to the server browser, join a game, and then have your friends join you!
-In the future, if you want to play as a party, you would join as an organized party and play in tournaments (which are not being shown for this weekend).
Also: Autobalance is on for the weekend, and this will be a setting you can disable later if you rent a server. All servers are set to autobalance over the weekend so that teams stay balanced on all servers, since we know we have so many new players!
-Chaplan

Anyone seen this before or has someone let the cat out of the bag.

I read an interview with a dev a while ago regarding private servers. I can't find the source atm, but they said it was something they were hoping to do.

And what exactly is constantly whining about the same thing over and over again on OCUK going to accomplish?

We get the message, you hate the game. Stop playing it and go back to WoW then.

If you want anything to possibly be done with your whining, post it on either the official or GW2guru forums. I seriously doubt that Arenanet developers are reading this thread.

Who is expecting them to read it? Again, I am quite against the idea of a 'discussion' thread only being reserved for the gushing and arousal reserved for the game's admirers. I think that's silly. I've seen plenty of comments (mostly on other forums) with people saying things like "10/10, perfect game" or "what a masterpiece, wow!". It's a Beta test. The game has faults. There are certain things missing. Why does it harm to discuss them? Why is it wrong to be concerned that they're missing? Of course I have also done my fair share of constructive bug-reporting and suggestion-filing. I don't understand your logic where you expect the thread to just be a long list of encomiums for Anet and GW2. Let's not beat around the bush, here: they have aggressively pushed for pre-release sales with this Beta offer, promising many things and setting their marketing/PR machine into overdrive. Everyone has been swept up in the GW2 hypestorm (hello? 1 million pre-orders over a weekend? incredible) and I would just like at least some critical distance and objectivity when we play it. Let's not all be too malleable a putty in their hands, eh? We've already given them enough money in-advance of the game's release to buy the entire company a year-long holiday.

As for saying "go back to WoW" to anyone that registers a complaint... well that's just fatuous really, isn't it? I haven't played that game in 4-5 years. What does it have to do with any complaint about GW2, specifically? For someone that is so aggrieved by WoW-GW2 comparisons, you sure do bring the game up a lot unnecessarily. In the case of having basic keybindings (something that many people are literally screaming for on the official Suggestions forum, myself included), it has nothing especially to do with big 'ole Warcraft's legacy. You're being over-sensitive here, I can't help but think. I'm merely saying that it's funny you are prepared to fork out nearly £100 in new peripherals to fix a problem in the game's keybindings that really shouldn't exist in 2012.

Yeah I had this response as well. I really hope that, ideally, Arenanet can just migrate our accounts from US->EU. I don't want a new account, I'm quite happy with my current account-name and random-number :p

Thanks for the links guys I guess it's just the PVP part they are renting out then which kind of makes sense - just thought it was a bit strange as that hadn't been mentioned in beta at all or at least not that I had seen.

Well from an impartial point of view you just seem to moan about the game - like I said before it's almost like you wanted to not like it.

And you don't need expensive peripherals you just need to do like most MMO players who don't have the peripherals have done for years now - don't use wasd and use a horizontal configuration around cvbn or even something like esdf or rdfg. Let's face it there is not exactly a lot of stuff to bind.

Like I say the game isn't perfect I highlighted that before this weekend and like I have said I think Archeage is the better game. But there is a really good game here and accessible (well sometimes ...) for people and it might be nice to read about it on here without your dissing it every 5 posts.

Why would people just want positives?

I'm not beta testing and it's great to be able to hear some flaws in the game so I am getting the whole picture not the constant love poems of bhavv and a few others in here.

I would never trust a review of a game that was just gushing positives (I doubt most of the rest of you would) so I'm certainly not wanting to hear the blind opinion of those who just scream "IT'S PRRFECT IN EVERY WAY!!!" (not saying that us you though :))

Yes and I have highlighted flaws but there is a difference between that and just slamming something in it's entirety.

You want negatives ...

Graphically not as good as you would think it is from the pre-release info certain areas a breathtaking though from a "vista" viewing point of view
Excess or effects from spells/weapons in a close area makes it hard to pick up the indications from bosses to dodge effectively
WvWvW tends towards the zerg and with no player building or real ownership causing a WARish war train of players moving from objective to objective without really facing each other en masse etc
Overload servers work when you change zones so you can be with all your friends and move zones then suddenly half of you are on the server and the other half waiting on the overload server etc

But there is no need for me to keep repeating that every 5 posts which is what some people are doing .... and like I've said again and again it is not as good as Archeage. That has the better PVP with consequences, deeper crafting, more variation but it has poorer balancing and of course the Western publisher is not even announced yet. I am not an evangelist of any game - no MMO cuts it for me at the moment but if all you are finding in GW2 is flaws then there is something wrong with peoples expectations.

So really it's just a personal quibble: your negative criticism is more 'authoritative' or 'valid' than mine? I haven't played GW games in 5+ years so I have no qualms about picking out the flaws and making (what I feel are) fair critiques of the current Beta state of play. I basically owe no allegiance nor have no sentimental attachment to the GW series. I just want a deservedly top-rate MMO title for the PC community to play. I have hunted for such a game tirelessly for years and have pre-ordered just about every other mainstream MMO... to equal disappointment. GW2's pre-release hype is very much talking about how it wants to satisfy this mass need for a new MMO, so obviously I'm holding it up to high standards. I don't see a problem, really. I feel I also have positive feedback and general advice to offer; I've done that in the last few pages as well.

It seems you and bhavv are really over-sensitive.

Ok so I have no gems either so does this mean I have a US key?
How will this affect me?
What should I do, contact support?

I bought my deluxe key from GMG.

Actually I just went to the "get more gems" link in the commerce tab, I had the choice of selecting 2000 free gems but the game is requesting my address info and my credit card info... should I input all that or not bother? I'm not too keen on giving my card details yet.

Go to the Commerce store by clicking the Gem icon, and then click on 'Get More Gems'. You should see a +2000 Gems Beta Offer there. Click next and proceed through the billing registration set-up. If on the drop-down menu for Billing Location you can't select the UK as your country of residence, you know your account is attached to the wrong region.

It won't bill you anything. I think the Commerce store just requires a player to fill out the details for his account first. This is probably so that you won't have to manually re-enter it in the future when you want to easily and quickly buy an in-game item.
