SX, unfortunately
A headsup and a bit of a gloat really. Just bought one of these:

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/...01_catalogId_10151_productId_743669_langId_-1

Already heavily reduced, but I got the bonus of a phone call from the store saying that only had ex display that were missing the keys and were scuffed, would I like to have a look?

Yes there's a couple of dings in it, but hey, it's a tool box, not a work of art. Asked what they could do, and the manager offered it for £40. Yes please :D

Got home, keys are taped to the locking bar

It's hardly snap on quality, but should last quite a while.

I've got one of these for my room.

As you say the quality isn't great but for the price you can't really complain too much.

Went to have a look at one of these a few weeks back...I know it is cheap but it does really feel cheap so didn't go for it in the end.

I've looked at these and although they'll do the occasional use, any weight and frequent use will soon wear them out. When I was getting a toolbox I looked at these ones and decided to get the industrial range.

But for £40 i'd have snapped his hands off, you could have it stuck on the bay for more!! I'd look at it as if it lasts 2-3 years it's had it's money worth

got one of these :) its lightweight and not really up to much but its perfect for all my detailing stuff

not as big as they look on the site either, heres mine in the real world :)

I'm thinking about getting the 5 drawer version as that has ball bearing runners.

Going to pop in on the way home from work tomorrow to check the quality out, for 50 notes i might take on punt on it.

Mine will just be used for storing tools that don't get used that often - mostly gearbox and other specialist tools so the quality level is fine. Just got to be gentle with it :D

I just bought the 5 drawer version with the intermediate 4 drawer tool chest on top.

I originally only planned to buy the £50 one but it was too small.

Ended up spending too much money but I found out the offer they've got at the moment is cheaper than buying with a trade card. The one they had in store also have a few dings on it and I ended up paying £190 for both. Can't complained really.

I have a Kennedy Pro 7 drawer one at work that cost £400 with and I would say the Halfords ones is pretty much the same quality. Definitely a bargain.

Same, went down and had a look last time these were on offer and decided against it. It's probably alright for some, but it was too flimsy for me.

The one in the OP is nothing to gloat about. I'm all for cheap but that cabinet was just plain too nasty for me.

I would usually jump on a cheap bargain but eugh.

Also on trade card it was £43 something for me.

We don't all have trade cards though, do we? Although I could probably get one easily enough, the amount I buy from factors and dealers. And when the usual price is well over £100 I think it's pretty good.

Yes it's a cheap piece but it serves my purposes and looks like it will last a decent length of time.

You sods.

After looking on there I'm now tempted to add the 4 drawer professional intermediate chest to go with my other stuff (Already got the 9 drawer chest and 3 drawer cab). Not sure I need it but didn't realise it was so cheap and I'm sure the drawers will soon get filled.
