Old skool: What was your first 3D card and game?

Voodoo 3 3500 was the first card I bought.

Had the weird War of the Worlds type blue thing with it.

I borrowed a friends Voodoo II for a while as he had two.

I think Tomb Raider 1 was my first 3D accelerated game, I remember the underwater bits in particular looked amazing.

32mb TNT2 was the first 3d card I ever owned, It came installed in a system from "tiny"

The first came I threw at it was a Quake 3 Arena demo, It looked amazing!

Played Quake2 for ages before I went 3DFX. Coloured lighting was a huge jump!

Power VR!! That's what I had before my voodoo II. I couldn't remember what it was. It came with Ultimate racing, the graphics were out of this world!!

ati rage 4mb - was not as good as 3dfx but could play most games. my friends uncle had a 3dfx voodoo 1, used to play mech warrior and diablo 1 at his house.

first fps was doom 2, quake 1 , MDK

The first proper 3D card I purchased was an Orchid Righteous 3DFX and the first game was whatever 'shiny shiny flashy lights' demo was supplied in the box.

It was a revelation.

Now that i think about it. the 4mb ati rage II did not support openGL but my friend with the voodoo used to laugh at me because i couldn't play in opengl.

After the 4mb ati i bought a riva tnt2 32mb.I don't remember what the first opengl game i played on my pc. Most likely quake 2.

Oh damn this has me thinking.

I had a Matrox Mystique card initially, and I used to run Quake 2 in a small window to enable me to play it at any speed.

My first proper 3d card was a original voodoo card, I think 8mb ram?

The first time I booted up quake 2 in that... my god... it was amazing.

Either a Voodoo II for the Quake/UT days or a Voodoo III with Alien vs Predator. My uncle technically had the Voodoo II but the III was my own first rig

I had a Matrox something or other before this but yes, Diamond Monster for me is the one I really remember! Loved Quake 2!
