domestic argument

the little money i have left i spend on nappies and beer

There is the problem then, you admit that money is tight and then go out and spend it on beer, women worry about these things even more so when they are tired stressed and trying to raise a new born baby.

Grow up, Man up and except you have responsibilities now that may mean you have to lay off the beer on your day off (not that such things exist when you have a baby) for the forseable future!

you want a back ground story?

we met in 2006 in a shared house with no money, we were "friends with benefits" the land lord decided to sell and give us (all six of us) notice to bugger off, in the midst of confusion Sharron asked me if I wanted to find another pad with her! although unexpected I quickly realised what was on offer and set about planning the res of my life! we have since moved 4 times and finally settled in a nice house after she fell pregnant, its a true love story, and sice you ask, no I cant sleep at night with babt crying, I am paying the rent council tax and fuel bills, the little money i have left i spend on nappies and beer is that ok?

That's interesting. Now what bits have you missed out which explain why your partner has just run off?

Don't lie to yourself over it, be honest. If you're honest with yourself you'll answer why she did what she did.

put it the other way round.

She decides to have a day off from looking after the baby - she decides to sit around drinking all day - How would you react to that??

Women are always testing us. By you coming home with something for yourself only she sees it as you being selfish and not caring about her looking after your baby all day. If you had come home with your beers and a small something for her it would have been different, she would have thought great he was thinking about me too. Its as simple as that to be honest. I have learnt this over many years ;)

Doesnt work if the OP's Mrs's is already concerned about his drinking - she will see the cans and think "oh god not again...i really wanted him sober today"

I've been there twice.

Women (understandably) are irritable at this time.

Listen to what others are saying here though, it's not just about you now, you have your girlfriend and the baby to look after.

You have to think how your actions will come across to a hormonal/tired woman, I can see where she might be coming from if you are still thinking about 'me' all the time and how tired 'you' are all the time, your negative actions are going to be amplified in situations like this.

Just phone her when you can, talk rationally, apologise if needed. Be a man and don't go down the route of you this, you that. It's give and take now there is a baby involved.

what are you talking about? how do you know I think about "me" all the time

Im completely exhausted, I WORK all day and night just to pay TAX for the coffers to dish out to the unemployed

The time i have at the end of each night i cuddle my daughter on my day off i like a couple of beers whilst on FSX

You've admitted to having issues controlling your drinking, and coupled with the fact that drinking to get away from life's stresses is the start of a very slippery slope.

How about cuddling your daughter for a bit longer today and save those oh so marvelous beers for later..? < That is what people mean about manning up, put that little life you helped create first, before your 'need' to have a drink

dont you think most men are in this position when they have kids? do you not think her job as a mum isnt 24/7 and maybe she thought you would chip in on your day off so she got some rest too? it only takes a few months or so out of your life to not play FSX and drink EVERY day off, maybe do alternate mondays. so every other monday you look after the baby so she can do what she wants, and the following monday you can do what you want?

Let me spell it out for you, your wife has a 24/7 job bringing up a baby she doesn't get a day off she isn't even fully recovered from the birth yet, she is tired, stressed and worried about money. She see's you having a day off playing computer games and spending what little money you have on beer for yourself of course there is a chance she will flip out you muppet.

You have a new baby - you don't get A DAY OFF. And given that you have already stated you have issues with drink, is it any wonder your partner has left the house? Your first thought on your day off is to buy alcohol and spend the time doing what YOU wanted, rather than helping her or seeing the baby.

how about thinking - i've got a day off - i'll spend it with my missus and the kids. We all pay taxes so that has to be the most stupidest reason ever.

This has to be a wind up - you have a day off and buy beers and want to sit and play the pc!!! any wonder the missus up sticks and left.

enough! the only post I took anything from was from SPIT he's right, maybe a little something to let her now i am still thinking about her

the rest is femenistic "peel your a*s from the sofa stop watching jeremy kyle" garbage
