with that attitude i cant see any reason why she would leave. man you must be the only father in the world that gets moaned and and isnt allowed to sit around on your 'day off' doing your own thing. seriously?!?
I think you are a fair bit past the token gift stage, those really work their best when done for no reason, not to try and make up for being selfish.

It's relevant to your situation, and potentially the cause of your problems. Certainly your attitude towards paying tax indicates that you are earning a reasonable amount, as I pay what I consider to be a large amount of income tax at 40% but I'm not bitter about it going to those less fortunate than I am.
All I was doing is offering advice to you. Seems to have struck a chord as shown above. You don't think she is going through exactly the same thing? The difference is you have a way out when you go to work, she has nothing but the baby and the four walls and doesn't get time off.

i pay taxes, and i think 99% of people on here do to
and a lot of people have internet access at work, like myself, so i can earn money for my children aswell as socialise on here.
you do live a blinkered life really.
So basically what you're saying is that after a hard week's work you get to sit around and have a drink, and your partner has had a hard week's work and just gets to work even more while watching you do nothing.

You need to suck it up and show some gratitude to your other half, she just MADE A PERSON, and you're bitching about how you don't get to have a beer?
For perspective, my wife has just gone back to work after maternity leave, she's working nights so i get the little man all to myself at night and do most of the days while she's asleep. It's knackering me and i haven't even gone through the whole CREATING A HUMAN thing.

Given that he is a new father, showing a bit of responsibility wouldn't go amiss. Putting someone else before you is a fundamental part of being an adult.
