Guild Wars 2

Well for a start there's all the optimization of the game. I was talking more in terms of a lot of work still left to be done to make it final-release worthy. During Beta most people were reporting it only using 30% of their CPU power and hardly any of their GPU. Plus we were only allowed access to 3 out of the 5 races, and even then only the first 1/3rd of those races' level content (probably a lot less if the XP/level scales exponentially). We had just a glimpse of the game, and even then people made a lot of constructive feedback and suggestions!

It's a bit of a pain that we're probably a minimum of two months away from release. It's like having your icecream snatched away after one lick :p

This. :( I just want the game now, lol. It would have been nice to have a persistant open beta, but I doubt they'll do that though as they're probably counting on a percentage of people not having easy access to the beta to "demo" the game, and thus to prevent lost revenue from speculative buyers who end up not liking the game.

I didnt get as much time to play GW2 as I wanted over the weekend because I was too busy but I know that its definitely left me wanting more.

GW2 for me has been great and knowing I wont have to pay anything is even better. I sometimes have months where i dont log into a game at all and then ends up being £10 subscription wasted.

Even if GW2 had a subscription I would probably have paid it but i know for sure i am going to end up spending money in the cash shop.

Just found the thread and sadly I'm in the same boat the the CJS keys thing. TBH I just want a refund wether thier keys work at launch properly or not it's not worth risking.

Just sent a request a few minutes ago for a refund so I guess I'll see how civilised they are going to be about it xD

On a brighter note I bloody loved the beta and like said by previous people it sucks we have had a taste of it and now it's gone but well it gives me something to look forward to :D

Yeah that is one of the things i noticed the most and that was how the game ran, it didn't make use of the systems we have and could have run a lot better if it had use the hardware to its true potential.

I don't feel the race things was an issue, i played the Asura race at Eurogamer last year and it looked good then. Why they left it out though is another issue.

Yup i've seen a lot of constructive feedback and suggestions, it all depends on if they take these on or not though. We will see issues fixed and little things added, but i doubt we will see big changes that some of the feedback/suggestions have wanted.

I still think it'll be an August/Sep launch.

They wouldn't have going by Arenanet, i posted a link yesterday explaining the region lock that did not work in beta but will at release. If they give you store credit, stick to your guns and ask for a full refund or you'll get it recovered using your credit card company they will refund you very quickly after that.

The beta was awesome, it's left me wanting to play so badly. I can't wait for release. :D

Luckily I stuck out the extra fraud verification and use PayPal so yeah if they don't comply I will file a dispute on PayPal and by the looks of previous posts in this thread that will work xD

And yeah god this was my first MMO recently moving from Xbox and god I'm hooked already xD

Did you pay with Paypal or use a debit/credit card?

If its Paypal just dispute it straight away don't even contact CJS about it.

**edit** just seen the above just dispute it. I wouldn't waste your time emailing CJS. :P

Ah really?, On the CJS site it says when contacting them about a refund it is quicker to do it through CJS and also said something about affecting you're credit score or something wired

I just went straight to paypal after I read the information that Gaile on the Arenanet forums put it. Put the dispute in at 09:49 and it was refunded by 10:16.

I read a few people were trying to get fobbed off with "store credit" and such for CJS so I didn't bother going to them.

Just really hope I can unlink my GW1 account.

I noticed this too, but I knew it was going to happen because Arenanet said it would in advance of the beta.

hi i was also caught up in the cjs keys situation i requested a refund via paypal got it with 1 hr also same spiel about them going to take arenanet to court.
on a better note i was very impressed with the ranger char i made will def think of having 1 as my main

I reacon they left them out for a couple of reasons.. Most people prefer to make human characters so on release they will now be more likely to try the 2 classes they havent seen before. This will probably help balance the load between starting areas on release.

Also I think it is good to have something fresh to play right at the start because we allready know so much about the starting areas so Arenanet can be certain that those who played beta wont be forced to repeat what they have done in beta because they have new content in entirely new areas.

So do I just send a item dispute via paypal and select the option for:
I received my item, but it is significantly not as described. For example:
The item was damaged or defective.
The box was empty.
The order was incomplete.

?

They did announce that it would mainly just be benchmark testing raw CPU power, which I think is why they advised people to downclock their GPU's and stuff - because it would actually make the performance more unstable. Was quite strange to see it not using 100% CPU power, though. My framerate was shocking as a result, particularly during moments that were heavy on post-processing effects, for e.g. when leaving water and going onto land, the water droplets on the screen would drop me down to 5fps (i5 760 4Ghz).

I believe there is an option for 'item not as described' or something. Use that.

All it really needs at the moment to be release ready is engine optimization, an option to tone down player effects, and a fix for the grouping-up problem. If they were sorted I'd be more than happy with the state of the game.
