***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

I am wondering what some people were expecting, I don't really see what more they could have done. We all knew it would be a quad a9 not krait cores, the screen and the rest of the specs are at the top end of what's currently available, it seems about all you could reasonably expect.

- 12MP camera
- ceramic or aluminium back
- SAMOLED+ screen
- 1.5-2GB RAM
- true "wireless" charging
- better design

Better design, bigger camera improvement and a SAMOLED+ screen.

It was just the hype train as usual though, there's nothing truly special here, just a solid upgrade to the S2.

It comes with some funky music features.

I think this is sometimes the problem, they put to much time and effort making things that are not really needed. This new social hub, or music player or skin or whatever, who overly cares? Android is becoming further apart due to HTC Sense and Samsung overlay.

Having said that, if it is available on my carrier (US) then I'll definitely get this, not really a hard decision as I have been waiting for about a year now lol

Aye exactly this!

People worried about Pentile should see the screen on the Note - that has 285ppi and it's not noticeable at all. Aslong as this screen is atleast as bright as the one on the S2 it will be great. Needs to be bright.

Storage is paramount - no excuse for not having an sd slot on any phone. Sandisk 64GB class 10 is £45.

Notification LED - Woot!

Blue brushed finish need to be sampled in the flesh - looks quite nice in some photos.

I prefer the traditional design of the S3 (FRONT) - wasn't feeling the One X when I sampled it in the shop + video camera is not shakey - low fps.

Exynos 4412 is powerful no doubt - as long as it been well optimised with the software (as it should because Samsung make the chips) it will fly.

32nm + 2100mah battery should see good battery life. With Nexus18 getting great battery performance from the One S with 1650mah, I'm expecting good things from the latest screen from Samsung.

Anyone saying otherwise - keep trolling.

lol the 1 series will always be ugly as sin!

Indeed. I saw the pictures and thought it was ugly, then I saw one and thought it was even worse! :D

i dont mind it :( i found it ugly as hell at first tho..

I give credit where it is deserved, see the GS 2 and GN thread when they were released ;)

The reason I say what you quoted is because it annoys me when apple owners think "OMG, this new evolutionary feature" e.g. notification bar and siri yet android has had those features for ages now, since 1.5 and 2.1!

And now the exact same is happening with the GS 3, features that have been in android mobiles for the last 2 or so weeks etc. So not really that unique, surely?

But to the same extent as the GS 3 and one series? :p

would you be happier if the phone did not have the features ? it better have them even if they are copied of other make :) this is what pushes them to invent something else!

I think it is supposed to come with access to 17million tracks on a Spotify style service. Plus the scan and match thing?

I'm guessing some third party is going to start selling a decent back cover.

I'm disappointed with the design, camera and screen. I'm going to play with it and compare it to a note and onex and then decide for myself. I was just hoping to order and be done with it.

What do you have to say about the cheap looking plastic design a la Galaxy SII an outdated 8Mp camera, and weaker screen offering. oh dear.

About the plastic, I can say that the S II has outlived many phones with supposedly better built quality. It's like a kitteh... it may fall but it doesn't get hurt falling.

It's not that though, it's more the fact that they've taken the design in the direction of the Galaxy Ace rather than something new, which is just poor.

Most of this thread was people looking forward to a fresh design and it's really not. :(

Benchmarks are looking good though, it should be as fast as expected.

But kittehs look cute at least;). I understand its supposed to be relatively durable, but looks count too.

You've been sucked into the hype too much - there isn't a weak point on the S3?

It all comes down to personal preference - this phone is **** hot all thing considered.
