Lets start the ball rolling on these rumours?

This could be why Sony made a couple of Gingerbread phones recently and instead starting developing on all new hardware for later this year? If so, that would be good for Sony and Android.

According to Chinese sources, Sony is planning to launch a phone that will make your jaw drop. The Sony LT29i “Hayabusa” (codename) is expected to hit markets this summer with an incredible, unprecedented spec sheet. The device will sport a Snapdragon S4 Pro (the one with an upgraded GPU) next-gen chipset for optimal performance. But, that’s not all. According to the Chinese source, the “Hayabusa” comes with a 13-megapixel stacked camera sensor with HDR video functionality and best-in-class low-light performance. This bad boy also includes a 4.55-inch HD Reality Display, on-screen buttons, and a 2200 mAh battery for lasting power. The best part? All of this goodness was fit into one tiny little ~7-millimeter thick handset.

A prototype device is pictured above. The actual device may hit the smartphone markets with a June announcement and July launch according to the rumor. It may end up being called the Xperia GX. If this rumor turns true, it’ll be abundantly clear that Sony’s turned over a new leaf in their smartphone department.

Check out the pictures this takes!

I fear the standard Sony "great hardware ruined by poor software" will ever be present :(

I want to see how Sony deal with ICS on high end hardware. Sony and Froyo was quite a poor show I though, not sure how there recent devices are holding up though.

More like great software/support ruined by cheap ass plastics and middle of the road hardware :) (the service apps are still quite poor, playmemories is good though)

Yeah, I'm definatly waiting for the Busa if the SGS3 isn't perfect :p

I know and it's a real shame. Ownership of the Arc has been excellent and very surprising, almost up there with the iPhone.

Support is now unbeatable for Android. Even the cheap ass Neo V has been updated to ICS, how's that for prioritising existing customers? (Will phones like the Wildfire S or most of the Galaxy range get ICS?)
These updates have been reliable, feature rich and communication via http://blogs.sonymobile.com/ is fantastic.

I even like the light UI over touchwiz and Sense. :) Yup, I'd be very happy keeping the Arc if it wasn't a fragile, POS plastic lump with stupid buttons :D

Interesting, no matter how good the s3 is I'll wait for this, high end hardware, a light UI and swift reliable updates appeal for some strange reason

If Sony play their cards right, they could get back on top here.

Those specs, and then slap stock ICS on top = winner. :p

+1.

Though, what's the chances of Sony sticking stock ICS on it?

I'd also be interested in the "LT30i" rumoured to be out in October/November this year. That should be up there with quad core phones.....

I know Sony have done it twice in the past but they would be extremely foolish to release this phone without ICS. The "LT30i" - is that the 'Mint' phone?
