***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

Awesome. I think i'm set on getting the S3 now more reviews have come out, heh.

Will see if i can haggle a bit when mobiles.co.uk ring me up.

Also, i actually quite like the white compared to the blue, each to their own though. :)

There aren't any actual reviews out yet, so I'd definitely wait for those.

I imagine they'll pop up soon, or nearer release? I'm not sure.

So it's that simple, preference over design/screen type etc doesn't come into it? You should just get the S3 no matter what?

The design is subjective. The screen is, despite some amusing claims in this thread that the OneX screen is almost universally viewed as being better than the S3, also subjective.
Plenty of people still prefer AMOLED regardless of how many times you try and subtly tell them they are in some way wrong :p

Storage, processor speed, sound quality, camera quality, battery life are not subjective. I'm sure you see where I'm going with this and wont fall into the blatant trap of making sweeping statements without knowing the facts....;)

Am I the only one who doesn't think it's ugly?

The design is starting to grow on me. The blue version isn't that blue and people are comparing to it the blue on the Galaxy Note which looks black.

Once they release some custom back covers all will be well.

The battery should be quite good and should give over 4 hours screen time, as my Nexus with the 2000mAh does.

Well, previews, One X vs Galaxy S3 comparisons then. :P

Still, as it stands the S3 is looking like the better phone and if i can get 300mins along with some free internet usage and unlimited texts for ~£28-30 i'm sure it's the phone i'll get.

I'm not telling anyone anything. I like AMOLED as well. As I mentioned before I'd be happy with SAMOLED HD or the IPS SLCD2.

You obviously missed the ridiculous praise that the One X screen received, I'd say it's pretty much universally considered the best. Though perhaps not for everyone indeed.

Like for like, the S3 does have more features and power - as expected, but that's not the entire story for everyone, just like the screen as you said.

It's not the same sort of blue as the Note, the Note almost looks entirely black. It's very dark blue. This is quite a bit lighter.

If the screen seems comparable to the One X and the design looks as good as I think it might in the flesh, then I may well be tempted (as per usual :p).

Whats the point? Surely it isn't different enough to be worth wasting your time and money on if you already have a One X?

Indeed, it would be a waste of money. I'm not intending on getting one, I just said I might be tempted. I have seen nothing to suggest the screen will be comparable anyway.

What do you make of the S3 design then? I wondered if you'd make an appearance. :p

The amazing thing about the One X's screen is how close it appears to the glass / "top" and the very clever bezel and the clearness of text - I use one every day (thanks to my gf having one) and no doubt its very nice in that respect, but in terms of colours / blacks its way behind my GS2 (in my opinion, as clearly this is somthing that may not be universally agreed upon! ^^ )

The more I look at it the more I like the shape and the brushed look on the front :p The back will get changed of course but the front is rather pleasant, it's not "out there" but it's not too hidden away all discreet either, it's just neutral.

Which isn't really a bad thing.

Samsung Legal!

I think you can probably guess what I think of it :p

I am genuinelly scared I am going to be stuck with a Sensation for ever.

I thought as much. I thought you'd find the One X to be agreeable though, I know it isn't metal but I think it feels premium. :(

Did you look at the One S as well? That's a fair upgrade to the Sensation in every way and the build may be more up your street.

Just curious but what do you think of the one s, mainly for build quality and perceived quality? :)

Ok, the blue one looks really blue in the photos and videos from the launch because of the blue ambient lighting at the event according to info I'm getting from someone who was there.

I've not actually tried a One S. As I said in the One X thread a few weeks back I did play with an X and didn't like the super light polycabornate casing compared to the reassuringly weightly all metal design of the Sensation.

Which is annoying as I like HTC, am almost out of contract and would love to get something shiney and new. I just dont like anything :(

Well then you won't like the one S at all due to the lightness of it :p
