***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***


According to one of the comments the One X lags with live wallpapers running, I never had a chance to check live wallpapers when I played with the One X, anyone confirm this?

Kudos to that S4 quad and hardware acceleration optimisations from Samsung if so. Even the S2 does lag a small amount when live wallpapers are being used.

Guess what I just looked up how much I'd get for my Note on Eb but I really wanted to see it get ICS and some TW improvements before it went, I'll hold fire for the moment but the temptation is huge.

(Mrk) I've just put Apex Launcher on the X and live wallpapers work perfectly, so it just seems that HTC have done a **** job with the Sense launcher. :p

I'm tempted to keep it really...
 
Whats the official release date (uk) on these? Due an upgrade for a long time and sick of waiting for Apple to pull something aw inspiring out of the bag. Went on o2 and could preorder it for 29.00/month 24 month contract one off payment of £99.99.

Does this seem like the right sort of price to be paying for this phone?

Your black stock ICS layout will look terrible on that, how will you cope :p

EDIT:

Just remembered you no longer use a black wallpaper :( so won't be much of an issue.

The S2 has the advantage as far as screen vs bezel vs front goes on AMOLED goes really, I shall miss that!

Gonna be picking up one of these SIM free with staff discount when its released for my brother as his Vodafone contract is due for renewal in July so he's gonna go SIM only and he's gonna trade in his Blakberry Bold 9900 as well. Depending on if I like it myself enough after playing with it, I might trade in my iPhone 4S 32GB for one myself too until the next iPhone is out!

How much is it with staff discount? I know some relatives who work in phone shops that I could cheekily call maybe!

The X is probably winning TBH. I quite like some of the wee touches that the S3 has e.g. vibrate when you pick up if you have missed calls/SMS, the (possibly) better video/sound performance, the SD card slot and bigger battery etc....

I shall await some real World thoughts after launch.

I'd imagine thats why the iPhone 4S sells so poorly then as nobody wants the premium feel anymore. The 4S is another fantastic nice feeling handset (No, I dont want one).

I'm less bothered about having 12 CPU cores and more bothered about having something that just feels great to interface with.

Reading your earlier post there was no chance of you getting the S3... by release day your be first in queue I bet :D
