***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

The iPhone is deceptive though as Safari increases font sizes, so you'll actually see about half as much text. It's good though, I like that about the iPhone. It's an excellent feature.

Chrome does this brilliantly aswell though i no longer have access to an iPhone so cant compare directly, but chrome on the One X is a far more pleasing browsing experience (hardly a surprise but still ! :) )

Try a Nexus in store or from someone else who has one. You will find different handsets of the same model display slightly differently. It's the same old AMOLED trait where casts are displayed differently depending on batch - It's weird.

I have 2 S2s here side by side and one is bluer cast than the other. My own one is more natural and looks closer to daylight (6500k) than the other which is closer to 7500k.

Yeah, there are also manufacturing issues like that with the iPhone and iPad screen, some are more blue and some are more yellow. I don't know if the panels HTC use suffer from this.

Same as above with my S2, it's bluer on white screens where as the Nexus was more yellow.

Aye, I'm actually using the stock browser as I like it for the text reflow on some sites, but I used Chrome on my previous phone and liked it a lot.

See my post here from March! http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=21461386 :p

Of course you'll have to zoom in to read text if it's tiny, I'm not sure why you'd expect different.

On this forum for example, I can read it zoomed out in portrait at a reasonable distance. It's not so nice on the Nexus, and impossible on other phones, aside from the iPhone due to how it bumps up text size.

Just logged on with my Note, in portrait i can read all the words on the page without zooming, did it as a test for you two.

Yeah it's pee easy on the Note and it also has an 800 pixel wide res too.

The Note is comically too large though!

Chrome and stock browser........pfft! :p

ICS browser + is where it's at fellows! :D :p

It also has text reflow robbo :)

I find it quicker for loading and rendering than stock sense browser and any other browser for that matter!

Hm, This is tricky.

I think this will be my next phone (have had a HTC Desire for 2 years and has served me well!)

I would get the One X but no SD slot is a deal breaker to be honest.

Now, my orange contract is up so i don't know whether to pre-order a new contract now, phone orange and see what the best deal they can do for me is (they gave me some loyalty bonuses last time as i have been with them for ever) OR buy it sim free for £499.99 and get the Giff gaff £10 sim which gives you unlimited txts/internet and 250 minutes(im not a big caller, mainly use the internet to be honest).

What are the majority of you guys doing? The giff gaff/buying it unlocked option would cost about the same in the long run BUT i wouldnt be tied down which would have its advantages.

Are Giff Gaff any good? You basically get O2 signal right?

Going to try it with Chrome browser now.

I'm this close [----|-] to putting Apex launcher on too. :p

Having made a call in the street using my lads 7.7 I can safely say there are things larger and more comical to make a call from than a Note.

Joking aside a Note held to your ear is totally covered, bar a slim black corner, by a hand, arm and sleeve, yeah you need three things to obscure a Note.

Oh whites on Duckduckgo are white and the coloured items on the page look right.

Check out 3 on one plan no cash upfront it's £34, but horses for courses, you've picked the best phone I'm sure you'll pick the best plan for you.

It's not just that, it's not even remotely comfortable to use in one hand and a lot of people do that often.

Had My S2 since they came out & absolutely love it. The S3 is looking killer. I should have my S3 in a week or 2, i have close family who are VERY high up in the moby biz, so i usually am able to get phones before they are released to the gen public.;)

I can hold as a phone very comfortably and use the contacts menu to make the call but texting is definitely a two hand operation I can barely touch the q in portrait and the grip is uncomfortable but 2 hands isn't a problem or hasn't been for me up till now, touch wood or should that be whiz.

But i do have to say, i hope ICS works better on the S3, cause since i updated my sim free S2, i've not been impressed, laggy, freezes, net connection considerably slower.

Do Samsung have shops, if so might they have S3 in before other retailers?

They have a few, yes. Not many though and you might not live near one.

They're selling the S3 in those pop up booths they showed at the press conference but I imagine they won't appear until the 30th at the earliest.

Or maybe you're just comically too small!:p

The note is big but that's what some people want/need (it's currently on my shortlist along with the S3/OneX) web browsing/watching video etc on a 5.3" screen must be a better experience than smaller screens, I know I get frustrated with the iphone screen and it's one of the reasons I've decided to change it for an Android phone, my ideal phone would have the screen size of the note and the internals of S3.

A guy on another forum has managed to order the S3 with 1000 minutes, unlimited texts and 500mb internet usage for £22 on a vodafone upgrade. Eugh.

I really hate that one minute i think i know what phone i'm getting and then the next i don't. I think it all factors on price for me. If they were both the same price i'd go S3 but i can't justify paying that much more for it if the One X is so much cheaper.
