So the original 360 doesnt let you put game saves to USB sticks, you have to buy proprietary memory cards & hard drives. And you need proprietary data transfer cables to transfer ONLY to other original 360 consoles.

And then, the new 360 slim does not work with any of that nonsense and lets you use USB sticks to put game saves on. But you can transfer game saves from the older consoles.

Genius!

Its a good thing I don't own a gun, I think I'd off myself when I try to imagine the lack of logic and common sense over there.

Hmm, gonna test this now, when i googled it all the top answers said otherwise. And I didnt put it past M$ to set it up so backwards.

Maybe they have patched it, but for a while there their plan was to not have compatibility between their old console and new slim one

No I have no idea what you're on about - the functionality has always been there. I bought a slim within a couple of weeks of it coming out and used a USB stick to transfer all the stuff from my old 360 to the slim. Never had a problem.

Why on earth would they ever want to do that? They want people to 'upgrade' to the slim so it was in their interests to make it easy to do, which fortunately, they did.

no idea where you read that
the old 360 and the slim work the same
the slim is only a update to the motherboard(hardware wise) as in the same way all the old sony playstations were
