I have never played any of the previous Diablos. Will I like this? :P

Probably, you go around killing millions of mob trying to get the best gear and the best builds :p

You know if diablo 2 is max 800x600, d1 is probably less. I bet it would work under a windows xp or 98 vmware install. You can make it full screen.

there is a mod for D2 to get better res, afaik.

So I sold my CE on the auction site and the person has messaged me asking if I can email the CD-key to them on release day so that they can play it on release day and then receive the collectors edition goodies a few days later.

My concern here is that could the person claim the CD-key did not work, open a dispute, receive a refund after I have sent out the CE for delivery, and I would be left £70 out of pocket?

Safest way is to say no, and just mail the whole thing....
Not cool for the buyer assuming he's genuine, but it's the best thing for you. If he wants to cancel it's no skin off your nose, there'll be plenty of willing buyers.

Seeing how much these CE's are going for, if I had one I'd carefully box it and forget about it for ten years.
Can you imagine what a mint unopened Final Fantasy VII CE would fetch now?! Or something like the original doom, factory sealed and mint! Gaming history is worth silly money to the right people.....

It's been 6 years in development Diablo 2 is 12 years old. :)

But some missed the train (like me).

Yep, i'm sure all of us appreciate that. I don't think playing it now, as a new player will carry the same feeling as playing it all those years ago...

and most of us have been waiting longer than just the development time! :p

anyone for guessing how long the campaign will last on average?

First run through of the beta (estimated at being 1/3rd of Act 1) will take you about 2 hours exploring / not skipping anything, which lands you just after the skeleton king.

I'd guess 12-14 hours as a conservative estimate for normal, exploring zones and not skipping cinematics / cut scenes. I'm pretty sure there is a quote floating around saying that the game opens up a little post beta, but no-one really has any idea.

My predictions for parts of the D3 storyline

Tyrael is the "falling star" and somehow has Imperius's spear!

Leah = diablo (or at least a female version)

Cain...Y U NO DIE? :p

Hmm, so you only get 20 hours out of it then judging from previous comments? :(

That is an estimate probably 15ish and that'll be on the lowest difficulty once you finish normal you then have Nightmare, Hell and Inferno.

Which will be a lot harder and probably take more time as there will be deaths.

Well sure but what's to stop anyone from doing that? They could just wait until they got the CE and open a dispute for any reason, ie, didn't arrive.

Hmmm, who else pre-ordered the CE from Tesco? I've just noticed my order now shows as "despatched within 4-6 weeks from April something"... so seems i'll be annoyed come the 15th...
