Guild Wars 2

It might still technically be a beta, but I can't help but feel it's a little scheme to make money out of hype, and pin the blame for any problems on "it's a beta". Don't get me wrong, I'm not slating it, I've pre-purchased, I loved what I played of the beta and I can't wait for more, but it's still a teensy bit underhanded, if you ask me ;) For example, if the beta had been free, and open to everyone, I imagine they'd have had less sales than they will with the current model, but, they would have had more feedback and testing than currently - it makes you wonder what the aim of it all was :p

Exactly my point, I am not saying the games awful or the whole experience was. Just that when you have to pay to play the beta you are entitled to feel annoyed when it doesn't work for a large part of the weekend.

When you have to pay to play a Beta it stops being a Beta test as is normally the case , or perhaps you had trouble understanding this concept ?

That's a bit misconstrued. You'd be a fool to think that the extras from pre-ordering aren't there to entice more sales, but you would also be a fool to have bought the game for beta access and then treat that with the aspersions that it should be anything more than.

You're right if the fact was that the game would've been released if there wasn't a beta. What the deal actually is is that the game will be released when it's released, but if you've already bought your copy, you get access to the betas which you should understand might have bugs.

The servers were only problematic Friday night for me, they were fine for the rest of the weekend. I encountered very few bugs while playing. I think that's a successful beta personally.

I think apart from the initial server issues (which is understandable when everyone's trying to log in at once for the first time and everyone's in the same zones) the game has been more than playable. Far less bugs than I was expecting. If the game was released in it's current state, I don't think I'd be disappointed like I have been with games in the past.

It looks like they can not unlink at the moment... Just got this reply.

Hello v1bez,

At this time, it's not possible for the Guild Wars support team to unlink the Guild Wars account you linked during registration. We plan to have this ability before launch, so don't worry. Your situation will be fixable. You'll just need to contact us again closer to launch when we'll have more ability to be of service. This issue will not affect your ability to play in upcoming beta events.

Thanks,
Guild Wars Support Team

DEspite me linking them direct to the thread where gale advises everyone to request a refund lol

Maybe you misunderstood what I said , or maybe you chose to ignore it so you could make your post and feel superior.

Nope I understood, must be the second part :p! again it's you that does not understand, in no way are you paying to be in the beta, you figure out why.

You should ask them why they no longer sell GW2 if that is the case.

It's obvious they are trying to par you off without giving you a refund.

Incase anyone missed it last page.

I've just received quite a vague response from anet

We are not able to remove that registration at this time. You would need to register with a new and unique e-mail address if you are registering a new serial code.

Not really that helpful, the email address is something I am not going todo even if it meant never playing this game. I have requested better clarification.

Woke up to a nice refunded email from CJS. Atleast they did it fast :)

Now to find a proper reseller that has a decent price.. Really wish I kept my order with play now before they put the price up :(

Hello, you are wrong.

The only reason you are requesting a refund is to try your luck at getting a free game.

We refunded ALL affected users on a PARTICULAR BAD BATCH OF KEYS.

You are not an affected customer.

And finaly the epic await has ended.. ArenaNEt Replied!

The Guild Wars 2 Serial Code that you registered was originally purchased from our website https://buy.guildwars2.com/. This purchase was made using a stolen credit/debit card and was thus flagged as a fraudulent charge. This resulted in the provided serial code being permanently disabled.

I would suggest contacting the seller from whom you purchased the code for a full refund, as they sold you a code purchased with a stolen credit or debit card.

In order to regain access to the pre-purchase benefits, you must pre-purchase Guild Wars 2 again and apply a new, valid code to your account. To ensure this does not happen in the future, please purchase the game from one of our authorized retail partners https://buy.guildwars2.com/retailers or purchase directly from our website https://buy.guildwars2.com/.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Have just sent another email to CJs requesting action before PP Dispute.

Seems really odd tbh, I know people that have been using CJS or quite a while without problem. Reminds mne of the mess of the MW2 (iirc) keys on steam getting removed for regional differences despite people having paid for the game.

[EDIT1]
In one of the previous mails from CJ's they asked for proof such as screenshot to explain my difficulties.
I'm sure the next beta event would put me beyond my 45 days PP dispute window ;)
Just logged into the account management on GW2 site, on DL clients does everyone get not available?

[EDIT2]
AS for current lowest price I think £34.99 @Game
OcUK not getting any copies in?

I wouldn't even keep messaging them tbh. As I've mentioned in the thread, they were dicking me around - the more I kept emailing them the longer they were delaying. Start a dispute and detail that you've spoken to a senior member of Ncsoft who has informed you about the legality of the keys and also the product is unusable because of "in-game" purchases are not set to the correct region and that you also have this on good authority that it is not an in-game issue but an issue with the key purchased from Cj's. This is what I did and was refunded in less than an hour. I'm hoping this would work for you also.

Dont bother, just go straight into PP dispute, you'll have your money within the hour. All this rubbish they say about it will take long, it wont just put in a pp dispute and say false advertising. Was US key not EU key advertised. Had my money back within 20mins.

CJS are already aware that paypal would punish them as they have no leg to stand on, so any dispute regarding PP is instantly refunded.

Oh really?
I was just giving them the benefit of the doubt as I say above I know people that have
been using them for ages without hitch.

I'll await their next reply and if it's not here is your refund then Ill start a PP dispute.
