Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [5th - 8th May 2012]

You're right, it's far from his first time and that's not any worse than some of his previous tackles either. Somehow he never gets sent off for them though.

The worst thing about the challenge last night was that the ref was stood right there with a perfect view of the challenge.

Indeed, i was quite surprised that the ref, with him having a perfect view of the tackle didnt pull out a red.

Just like the other night when Blackburn should have had a penalty against Wigan, again the ref was right there and had the perfect view.

I swear yr by yr the reffing in football gets worse and worse...many teams have been cheated out of a goal or a win in some cases ie Wigan against Chelsea a few mths ago is one that comes to mind.

Yeah Essien's was worse but thought Shelveys was a studs up off the ground challenge too.

Shelveys was a red, but it wasn't a two footed drop kick with no intention of winning the ball, which as others have said Essien has done a fair few times in his career, people like him and de Jong shouldn't be near a football pitch.

Yes it could seriously harm him.

Not in my opinion, but that's splitting hairs. Lets just say it wasn't the most dangerous/reckless tackle of the game. Didn't Shelvey kick somebody in the head too? The true sign of scum is to kick a man in the head when he's on the floor.

An arsenal fan talking about tackles. Not reliable.

Not just worst attempt of a tackle in the game, but probably all season. Strangely glossed over by the media too.

What? Didn't you miss the first ten minutes of the game where he elbowed someone for a header if that's what you meant.

Also you talking about Liverpool or Spurs is pretty unreliable

Reading some Blackburn forums for a laugh and apparently Givet had Kean up against the wall in the dressing room at half time because he wouldn't put Nzonzi on and because of how they were playing. That's why Givet was subbed off and that's why no one acknowledged him when he finally got to the bench. Apparently they had a bust up during the Bolton game as well. :D

Explains why he looked shattered yesterday during the analysis! :D

Andrew Cryer ‏ @CryerRovers

Just been told no questions about paul hunt because no one at the club knows at the moment! Brilliant!

Andrew Cryer ‏ @CryerRovers

Btw the question will be asked anyway but I don't think anyone knows

What?! So only the press people at Blackburn know Hunt has been sacked and no one else... So Steve Kean doesn't even know... Should be an interesting press conference! :D
