Wise man you are. I'm kind of in the same boat, I dunno whether to get the S3 in August and flog my S2 on ebay or just stick with the S2 until the S4 comes out (which will hopefully be a more noticeable leap over the S2).
I just wish manufacturers would stop going for yearly releases or the phone companies would offer 12 month (affordable) contracts so upgrades can be slip streamed with contracts.
The problem is if I get the S3 in August, sign up to another 18 month contract and they bring an S4 out in May 2013, I'll have to wait til Xmas before I can get it.
June 22nd mine ends i think but he said but i can upgrade whenever. I guess i can wait till then if there's bound to be some good deals about.

No body has called it that, I did disagree with the statement that it is "a lot" bigger than the S3 though. IMO, for it to be "a lot bigger" it would have to be at least 50% increase in size. From the side by side comparison is looks marginally longer and noticeably wider but not 'a lot' bigger (again IMO)

Ok let me put it this way, the screen on the S3 is 4.8 inches which is a 11% increase in size over the S2.
The screen on the Note is 5.3 inches which is a 10% increase in size over the S3 (and 24% bigger than the S2).
So there is a bigger jump (in screen size anyway) from the S2 to the S3 than there is from the S3 to the Note which IMO chips away at the Note's niche a little.
Now I know they've been more efficient with how much real estate the screen takes up on the S3 but then adding the curved edges in, I feel any gain there has been reduced by the design.
As I said before, I just think they've gone for 4.8 inches so they can say they have a 720p screen despite the fact that from a clarity point of view there would have been no difference in using a 4.3 inch screen @ 650p, except the fact most people think that 720p is some kind of holy grail because it's "HD", they'd even included the term HD in the naming of the screen which is rather pointless and IMO is nothing more than taking advatage of people's poor understanding of resolution versus screen size.

So how much bigger is a whale to a mouse then? That must blow you mind if you're already using the term "outrageously" to describe something less than half as big as something else.
Drop the res and screen size and you drop the PPI count. If it was 1024x650 or whatever at 4.3" then the screen PPI would be around 280. While that kind of difference might not be visible to the average person....we're not average people.
Face it, Note is much bigger especially in the hand. bezels are bigger, dimensions are bigger and so on.

How so? PPI is Pixel Per Inch, it is not defined by the screen size or final resolution.
By your logic, a 60" inch 1600p TV would have a higher PPI than the S3 because it has a bigger screen and higher resolution.
Proportionally it's a lot bigger. You have to remember things like hand size for one handed use too.
It crosses a line of becoming too big to comfortably use as a general phone. That is why it's too big. I don't know why you are banging on about percentages, it's not relevant. The S3 does not do this, therefore it's not an issue.

If there's no 32GB model on release day then I'll get the 16GB model and a 64GB card. Been a while since I last bought SD cards, I assume no new players in the brand game have come about to it's still Sandisk?
Anyone got a link to a gallery of the S3 in white and blue? Can't decide which I like more.
Most galleries I've seen are either promotional shots or hands on in a dimly lit show space somewhere, would be nice to see what the colours look like in more naturally lit locations.

I'm getting the 32GB one that's coming with the phone via CPW. Will probably eventually grab the 64GB.
I think that this was one of the clinchers for me getting the SIII in that there is no longer the need to format the SD card to FAT32 and by so having the 4gb limit for video files. I'm assuming that the FLAC lovers will be liking this as well.
