President Obama Endorses Gay Marriage

OH lawd, seem like some people have an agenda, u mad Lin?

I have no problem with gay or lesbian people with adopting children and bringing them up its when they get surrogates and think they are part of evolution.

I wonder if surrogates tell their kids that they have a mother that brought them into this world them sold them on rather than a child they would have adopted that would have languished in a home or foster parents.

One thing I am for is adoption, so many kids get treated like ****, we wouldn't even be able to imagine, to some same sex couples a new born is an accessory these days.

I wonder if this thread will get deleted, I doubt it.

Churches shoud be able to marry gay couples if they want to. If they don't, they shouldn't be forced to.

I am against forcing churches to, but if certain churches choose to, that's fine by me.

Yes I basically said the same thing twice :p.

Yes but a lot of people in here believe they aren't forced.

I dont know where they get their idiotic sources from.

Well David Cameron has said churches will not be forced to marry.

I am aware there will be a very small vocal minority who will try and force churches but hopefully common sense will prevail.

Tyron,
As a gay man, please explain to me why you would deny me the right to marry someone I love, what possible impact does my happiness have on your life?

What possible impact does being married or not have on your love?

Either you love that person now and marriage won't make a difference.

I'm against gay marriage on the basis that, I'm against marriage, and religion, and the need to join or do anything just because other people have told you its what you do.

Rather than simply accepting everything people, parents/society told me as I grew into an adult, I questioned everything.

Why do you want to get married?, I can't think of a single god damned reason, big expensive day..... to still love the person I love the same amount the next day?

I can tell everyone how much I love someone without a "day" set aside for it, I can tell the person I love how much I love them, I can have kids, a job, a house, a life without marriage.

Why does ANYONE want to get married, campaigning for something you can't have, rather than telling the institution that won't have you, that you don't need it?

Desperate need for acceptance, or like current overzealous feminism, its a cause therefore it must be faught, the fact that its a pointless one with no meaning, no reward and no reason.... people like causes?

A black man could sue the KKK group to allow black people to become members, that's a cause.... but why, why the hell do you want to be part of anything that doesn't want you, and again, means nothing, is something people are simply told is normal and decide they want without ever putting a seconds thought into why.

The world would be a lot better if instead of fighting EVERYONE over stupid things that don't matter, we just, you know, didn't.

Have a party, don't waste life savings, invite all your friends, tell them you're moving in, go on holiday, enjoy life.... where does being married make any of that better or worse?

THe half of the world that is against gay marriage because they think being gay is wrong, can go screw themselves, and I can't understand why gay people give a damn what they think, make THEM the outcasts by shunning THEM, not beg to join them, its utterly backwards.

Ignore people who don't want anything to do with you, ignore institutions that tell you that you are lesser in any way, and be a part of anything where people are treated fairly and equally.... marriage certainly isn't one of them.

So are you for or against surrogate parents for infertile straight couples?

I always find myself agreeing with you :D. Marriage personally is not for me. However, if other people want to marry, as pointless (in my view) as it may be, they should have the choice as it doesn't affect me.

People have said to me if you don't wish to be married (for the reasons you just outlined) what about the legal/civil securities afforded by marriage. I guess I see a point to that from that point of view. I guess five minutes down the registry office is all I would need, just to get the legal status. I'd rather not call it a wedding, just an annoying formality.

Although linking to the Daily Mail isn't really credible. You may as well have linked to a potato.

Well that's your dim view but no one can deny churches are being forced.

Hell in America it's only legal in 6 states because the judges allowed it. Most of America don't want it.

First link: "Lord Alli's amendment to the Equality Bill, meaning churches wouldn't be forced to marry gay couples, was supported by senior churchmen"

Second link: "The scheme is expected to propose civil gay marriage, with churches left out."

Third link: Willfully ignores that the bill was amended to stop that.

Question, why is discrimination wrong … unless its in the bible?

Your not against 'gay marriage' though, you are against 'marriage', theres a difference.

Personally I'm against all forms of marriage, I dont want it, I view it as a religious tradition and I agree that if two people love each other then they dont need a marriage to show this.

But if other people want to get married then thats their choice not mine. I cant stop people getting married, just like I cant stop them from from having sex.

Your view on this topic is even dimmer than anyone elses.

And who cares about America? Christianity in America is the western equivelent to Islam in Saudi Arabia.
