***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

I wonder if I'll be able to walk into Town and buy a sim free one of these on the launch day?

I'm not a fan of pre ordering over the internet as I'd get it delivered to work, and if it is late being dispatched and is delivered on a Saturday then no one will be at work and I'll have to wait till Monday to phone up and finally get it Tuesday.

Also where is going to be the best place to get rid of my Galaxy S2 after the S3 is released.

Usually the phone recycle places are easy to do but don't give you the best value.

Surely someone would pay £250-£300 for a mint Galaxy S2 with a few extras.

Just saw the pic posted with this against the white HTC one X, it looks bad, no matter how I try to convince myself it doesn't.

I want to slap the design team of this phone!

I almost think the white is better, and no way am I getting a white one!

I reckon you should be able to find them in stock.

But I've pre-ordered mine from Amazon via my Prime account so I have a guaranteed 30th May delivery. And I find they do deliver on the day every time I've ordered via Prime.

Won't be able to play with it until the next day though. :( Going to be in the audience for QI on the 30th! :D

Oh my god, apart from the colour I don't mind the design!

However, I held a HTC One X on Sunday and my god it's huge! I have big hands (6ft 6 so it'd be weird not to) but my god I can just about hold it comfortably in one hand.

The main reason for me choosing this over a HOX is because the charging unit is on the bottom! I cannot stand it when it's on the side, I'd like to buy a stand for it and so on.

We? :p

I actually think the S3 looks a bit more modern than the S2, like I said before, side by side the S3 looks a bit fresher while the S2 looks more professional, like how an IBM thinkpad doesn't give itself off as modern but looks professional in the old sense. But next to any other same era phone, the S2 looks amazing.

Well I took the plunge, Three network, 2000 minutes, 5000 texts, 5000 Three to Three minutes, unlimited data, £34.00 a month on a 24 month contract.
At the moment I'm with Vodafone and its £36.00 a month for 600 minutes, unlimited texts, and 500mb of data.
The wife is on Three so the extra 5000 minutes is good considering how much she can talk :D
Now to sell the S2.

Edit : S2 now recycled with O2, £230.56 which more than covers the old contract, happy days.

When are we ever going to need that much though (unless you install a ton of 40MB games) :p

I have 2.21GB for apps and have just over 60 apps installed (quite a few large apps/games too) and still have 1.87GB available :p

We won't, that's a common partition for both data and apps so that's a good thing! It also increases manpoints. Also note the bit below on that linked post about how it looks and feels. Armchair experts have ripped the phone apart from looks and materials yet everyone who has seen it in person has been rather impressed.

I'm expecting big things when I have a proper go with one then.

The only thing that I am concerned about is that back, looks like it could get scratched very quickly.
Although I assume you will be able to get replacements.

People have their opinions and not surprisingly you’re the armchair expert who has bucked that trend. :p:D

I still think it looks horrendous and I very much doubt that I will change mind once I get a hands on go with it and no matter how many people think it looks awesome or say that it is actually really good won't change my mind at all just like Fox and his opinion on light weighted mobiles :p

The colour doesn't seem to be as much of an issue though as originally thought, still need to see it in person for this area.

But the camera/speaker area design looks **** and reminds me of my spica for the camera lens, which is not a good thing! And the buttons on the bottom look **** IMO particularly the hard button, should have kept it as a touch sensitive button as well or had the buttons on screen like the GN, which would have suited the device far better IMO.

Feel, obviously none of us can judge yet, it will be more comfortable to hold in one hand though due to the ergonomic curves and just feel better than the GS 2 (as the GS 2 is just rectangle slab essentially).

And I still think that brushed glossy plastic is not going to do it any favours when I see it in person :p

Again all just my opinion, some may love the stuff that I hate and others may agree with me :p

Some armchair experts have also been just a tad impressed from photos alone too.;):p
