ok, so i work in a little shop. we sell pc stuff and do basic repairs.
the thing is, my manager has no computer knowledge at all. the stuff he comes out with to customers is cringeworthy.
a quick example :
someone comes in to buy a universal laptop charger and this is how the conversation goes
Manager 'we need to see the laptop to make sure it has the correct tip'
Customer 'its a HP ****'
Manager 'ah, well you see with HP they are manufactured in ireland, england and europe, so you cant go by model numbers as each country will fit a different charging socket'
Customer 'oh right, so how come on ebay you can search by model number and it only shows one tip'
Manager 'ebay is wrong, you need to bring it in'
Customer 'i think i will order one off of ebay, i dont like your attitude'

this is one of many examples of his complete stupidity and the reason we lack sales.
anyone else have similar cringeworthy experiences at work.

American ******* techniques/ways of doing things stupid vids garbage yanky atitude.

Managers. Dossers who fought tooth & nail to get the Managers position just so they can spend the rest of there careers sitting on there **** doing **** all but get in the way of the people that actually do the work.

Work mates - No I am Not your best mate & do Not want to hear about your ****** up relationship, Boring life or owt else to be really honest just **** off & let me do my job in peace.

Work mates who talk about work during breaks - These Freaks are Banned from my Dining table.

Certain people where i work rush their bloody backsides off like there's no tomorrow,That really makes me cringe,And they wonder why they keep on laying people off.

Less workers - less wages the company has to pay,and then make the left over workers do more in less time...seriously we get more and more work to do everyday now,Im not shy of work don't get me wrong i work my bloody backside off in that place but eventually....well you know,We dont get paid anymore.

yeh this really annoys me to. my manager (who i think we are all agreed is a bit of a ****) tries to be all pally pally with you, and doesnt get the hint when you blatently ignore him and just goes on more.
breaks?!?!?! what the hell are they :(

My manager is illiterate. Hes on a 35k a year salary as well. lables, requsted and becaus are just a few of his examples. It makes perfect sense when you find out his wife is also a manager before he came along.

haha yeh, mine is like that.
when booking something in, no matter how many times i tell him its wrong this is the notes i get :
'machine runing slow, sugest ways of inprooving performance'

we also have fixed prices for 90% of our jobs, but i still get 'please quote before repair' or 'please quote before any chargable work is carried out'

a lot of the stuff my colleague comes out with is quite cringe-worthy....

Yet some how, after two years...No one has complained majorly? =/ I really though I'd be able to work here for a few months before they realised I could do the work more effectively :p

Sods law I guess

We had a manager that was just a blatant knob head, Everybody knew it even the other Managers, I'd have grief with him & have to go to another manager for a "chat" :o They would turn around to me & say we know he is a bit of a **** & we know you do your job well so we'll tell him to stay out your way.
On my life, I mean what the **** is going on ?

Worst of all this Dude knew he wasn't going anywhere so left to go train as a Teacher, Gutted for the kids he'll teach. :(

1 bosses that skim emails and dont read them properly then ask you for the same info 2 weeks later
2 staff assesments and personal performance reviews every year
3 reflective diaries and why dont you keep one.. cause i dont wanna reflect on my day i just wanna go home
4 pay awards that are below inflation
5 trying to get purchases with out the correct cost code from the correct department and no one else will take responsibility for spending out of their departments budget even tho its all the same company
6 daily health and safety messages
7 green travel policy
8 admin
9 slow IT
10 backoffice support moved to india
11 3 hr teleconferences where the same person speak for 45 minutes cause she likes the sound of her own voice but actually gets nothing done

im sure that there are a few more things that make me cringe

but overall i love my job

The woman in my office who is a bible basher, and every time you say something like "oh for god's sake" or "this computer is slow as hell" makes a massive fuss about it and asks for an apology. She even had a massive go at one of my colleagues who referred to his notepad with all his notes, procedures, etc. as his bible.

Christ almighty, I don't know what in heaven's name is wrong with her but she doesn't stand a snowball's chance in hell of surviving long in the office with that attitude!
