M5 has to go :-(

Save money on fuel. Spend it on depreciation instead putting 80k on an XF over 4 years :D

I keep finding myself looking at XF Portfolios, the only thing stopping me is the fact i'll be putting epic mileage on it :( The same goes for any 25k car really.

I'm slowly coming round to the idea of spending a few grand on something generic like a Focus or Mondeo and pocketing the difference.

I don't think you could live with a Focus or a Mondeo.
What about an E60 520d?

They're not THAT bad are they?

If the build quality of my M5 is indicative of the rest of the range, then no, I don't want another one. Besides, I think downgrading the M5 to a lesser model in the same range will be harder to live with than going for something else entirely.

Try a MK4 Mondeo Titanium X 2.2 TDCI.

They come well equipped.

Do they all do that?

My E39 doesn't rattle at all.

I doubt they all do, heck I bet even the odd 10 year old Clio is rattle free, but it seems to be a common complaint. My parents 2007 525i does (But the E39 Touring doesnt), my E92 335i did (But my 530i doesn't), his M5 does.

My fathers old E60 525d did after only 30,000 miles but his E39 didn't.
I see a pattern emerging.

FWIW, my Z3 does. A lot.

I've just been looking at MK4 2.0 TDCI Mondeo Titanium's.

It would seem I need to part with 10k to get a 4 year old one. That seems pricey for a Mondeo, certainly a few k more than I was expecting.

Am I doing it wrong?
