***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

Anyone know if the S3 will support .flac files? I'm googling for file types supported and can't find anything.
what do you mean if the phone will support it? the samsung media player? there's loads of android players that support flac

That would be up to you to arrange with 3 once you have bought it from 3 site via tcb link, I presume you can get it del to a shop for walk in collection in your purchase options.

I'd sooner get it from a shop as then you can take it back to the shop if the phone is faulty.

Seriously, you're not going to get it before the 30th - especially using Play. Will hold my hands up and say fair play if you do though.

I've known Play to deliver items before release day typically dvds, games and such like, they aim to get the item to you on release day so err on the side of caution in their estimate of how fast post will be and thus if the post is fast you break the embargo.

Funnily enough I have read the complete opposite for play with games :p

Remember when AVP (PC) was released and people order it like a few weeks before release date and the majority didn't get it the day before or even on release day and quite a few didn't receive it for at least a week and in some cases even more than a week! :o

Have you wandered in here by mistake? It's not the HTC One X / S thread

Yeah, it's not like there have ever been manufacturing issues with Samsung phones. I remember that chap on here had 4 or 5 S2's in a row and they all had screen issues, and I know a lot of other people who have had problems with the Galaxy S 2, Note and Ace, etc.

Better not get a Galaxy S 3 then, just in case. ;)

Shocker as some devices get into bad batch bother!

:p

The One X seems to have an unusually high number of issues that don't just affect the screen though it has to be said.

All manufacturers are just as bad each other and anyone who thinks that any mobile is going to come out without any issues just because of its brand is a fool tpbh and just makes the fanboys of certain companies/brands stand out even more.

Even the iphones have had issues when they were released and they are suppose to be the phones that "just work" and have no issues at all......

Samsung is no better at all, remember plenty of people here who had issues with the GS 2 screen as well and poor battery life for the first month due to the hubs by Samsung or something causing battery drain amongst other problems.

The question is who is better and quicker at fixing the problems....

HTC have great support for their flagship devices, the X has already had 3 or 4 updates to fix issues (it has quite a lot of issues as well tbh) and quite a few of the major issues have been fixed with those updates (well for most people anyway it appears), Samsung are also pretty good at getting a load of updates out quickly to fix problems, however, it seems to take more updates to fix certain issues than the likes of HTC.

Yeh you seem to know a lot of unlucky folk, nothings infallible but two premium mobiles from a respected manufacturer ;)

I'll just leave this here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1602538

Of course the S2 got royally slated for being "cheaply made" seems plastic is the way forwards, bring on the S4 made in partnership with lego

I know a lot in general and there are issues with Samsung devices and there will no doubt be issues with the S3.

To try and convince yourself otherwise shows a high level of foolishness. I don't personally have the statistics to judge which is worse, there are a lot of issues with the One X but then there were a lot of issues with the iPhone 4 for example (with the screen) but that was just the early batches.

Hello! I'm still here :p

I don't think it was you... but there are likely a good few people with problems. As with everything really.
