Fat fighting kids parks

How do you increase it on those machines which appear to have zero resistance? I've seen those leg ones before and they just swing your legs, they actually reduce the work

Only useful for very old people. No use to fat people or children.

Here's the crux of the problem - you don't know how the machines work, so you've dismissed their effectiveness.

Ive used them a few times, the mechanism is linked to the seat so you are lifting your own weight to provide the resistance. Quite a good design.

Obviously, they aren't fully adjustable like machines in a gym, but they are outside and free, so what do you expect? I stand by my assertion that they are very useful and a good idea for the casual exerciser.

The problem with fat kids is not the kids eating junk, it is their parents fault for letting them eat it!

The solution lies with tackling the cause, not tackling it once the kids are already porky.

It's also the xbox, facebook etc. that makes kids prefer to stay in rather than go outside and run around. I do think that parents who feed their kids ready made food/takeaway all the time need lessons in cooking though.

Im pretty sure these apparatus are not for kids......

Kids should not be doing exorcizes like that and surely the government/who ever funds it knows that.

It must be for adults, although IMO is very strange.... is it not just a waste of money? Cant imaging many people actually using it.

Its easy to get fat kids to fight eachother in the park.......

Just go to the park with loads of free ice cream and a megaphone, you soon have a fat kid frenzy

A parent should make their children play outside by limiting their hours on the internet or on computer games. Take the children for walks.

A fat child. say under the age of 10 (a number I just randomly picked out) should be a form of child abuse. A child will eat McDonald's and sweets for every meal of the day if it can.

Yes. it is child abuse!!!!!

Call the social services now!!!!!!

Lol, in all seriousness, its not child abuse, but it is certainly bad/lazy parenting and not fair for the children
fat little gits!

Those machines aren't bad as anything helps...but I don't think they're gonna revolutionise people into becoming fitness fanatics...

They don't have to turn people into fitness fanatics, if they were, they would probably join a gym.

They exist as a free way to get your heart rate up and do a little resistance exercise, mainly for people who go jogging in the park, or walking the dog, or a parent who might want to teach their kids to do some training.

I could also argue that somebody may well try some exercise and then decide to take it more seriously. Of course not everyone will, but some do, thus they've achieved their purpose for a wide range of people.

I forgot that the BBC ran an article on them earlier this week:

It's not that easy.. coming home from work, having to make dinner, look after your younger kids etc, if the older ones are sitting on the games or telly that's one less thing to worry about I would imagine.

I don't think you can force a kid to go outside, if you live in a built up city area you might not want them going out after dark, for example. If a child has no interest in sport that poses a challenge also. All you can do is encourage a healthy balance.

Isn't that the guy who got hired by jackie chan as a stunt man after he saw the vid?

yes i beleive it is awesome tumbler but its a good example of fitness on the street i know he uses equipment but you can do a lot with bare essentials and imagination

Don't know why they can't build this style of adult 'workout park' in the UK:

I've never seen one at least? I imagine they're hard to vandalise without an angle grinder or something too :p

A quick look on the guys channel of the video you posted and it appears they do.

Wish there was one near me, they look awesome.
