Good to know, Still would make it easier to relax them saying it has been shipped though!

Official update from Shop.to:

Firstly, Activision have been about as useful as a chocolate fireguard re the delivery and info provided to Shopto.

The stock arrived after 4 pm today (both CE and standard versions)

Contrary to the info supplied to Shopto, the CE ISN'T only slightly bigger than a normal game box, in fact the normal version is the size height and depth and about 1/3rd deeper than a standard edition so you shouldn't have any real problems with that going through the letterbox.

The CE version however, measures, 30 cm's (12 inch) high, 25 1/2 cm's wide (10 inch) and 10 cm's (4 inch) deep so theres no way on earth that will be packaged by the automated system and will therefore be individually hand boxed/despatched.

The normal versions of the game are processing as we speak and despatching via Royal Mail so these will arrive in their normal manner.

The CE versions will be despatched via DPD and will be despatched on Monday, for guaranteed arrival on the release date, ie Tuesday.Remember that DPD provide a one hour "delivery window" that they will email/SMS you details of, provided your account details are updated appropriatetly.

So in summary, a last minute delivery, with misinformation regarding the actual CE box size means that with the best will in the world there's no way Shopto could have attempted to box and despatch the CE versions and as DPD don't pick up on a Saturday, these will be despatched on Monday, having been individually boxed by the warehouse staff over the weekend.

This will give you an indication of how one piece of misinformation plus a very late in the day delivery, gives etailers logistical headaches to ensure their customers receive their items on time.

I ordered mine only last night from Shopto and I still have my CE on my pre-order list so I am waiting and hoping that my CE will ship. I have a copy already tied to my wow account so will be playing at 11pm either way but I am a bit of a fan boy so wanted the CE anyway and what with Blizzard giving me 4 months of wow time its only techically 1/2 price.
 
ShopTo CE's Shipping Monday..they are blaming Activision/Blizzard for not informing them the correct size of the box..

so basicly they have never sold any WoW/SC CE's then? :D:(

no 11pm for me :(
 
The size of the box isn't the only problem, The problem is that anything much larger than a normal box won't fit in their automatic packing system (there are vids on youtube). As such they will have to be packed by hand. If Activision didn't get the shipment to them until gone 4 today then there was no way they'd go out today.

It's hardly a problem having them on Tuesday, we've waited 12 years I'm sure we can wait a night.
 
i will wait a day, but i won't use shopto again, they've prices have gone up(compared against other etailers these days)

i just can't get my head around not knowing how big Blizzard CE's are..only have WoW..3 expansions..SC2..ye i should stop ranting :)
 
Words of wisdom from someone who learned it the hard way - never ever change the delivery address on amazon after you place the order if you want something delivered in time for release. Apparently their system treats that as re-submitting the order and resets the despatch/delivery dates :confused:. Had them ring me up and change from first class delivery (that would arrive on wed when nobody's home, so another day's delay due to post office being unhelpful :P) to express delivery that was unavailable when originally placing the order just to get the damn thing delivered on time. Postage cost went up sadly :(.
