josh when you are non eyefinity do you just use 2 screens (2 on and 1 disabled ) ? or all 3 screens with 2 being a duplicate of each other. with the likes of your start bar in the middle screen and the right screen being your 2nd screen and the screen on the left being a duplicate of the right screen. or what way do you have it

I always have all 3 screens enabled (but the right hand monitor is regularly turned off), either left or centre are my main screens with taskbar depending on preset, the other two screens are both seperate extended screens so no duplicates...

To turn eyefinity on/off presets are the way forward, to add them just set it up how you want and in CCC for Presets -> Add Preset... then enter the name and hotkey you want. I've got 3 setup:

Ctrl+Shift+1 = 'Normal' which is the windows taskbar on the left screen, and the others extended
Ctrl+Shift+2 = Is just normal extended again but with the windows main screen as the centre for non-eyefinity games
Ctrl+Shift+3 = Eyefinity

Really doesn't take long to switch, my only downside is that Pidgin has a habit of crashing when the presets are switched but that's just dodgy software :p

You are a god amongst men

my fault or should the person behind me have been more cautious in the first few corners?
i was trying to give the 2 cars ahead of me room and i was going as fast as they were.

the guy behind me just seems to come in with to much speed and try to overtake where its not really possible? it was the very start of the race btw

the 1st and second place were so slow for some reaosn so maybe it just caught the 4th place guy out

I'd say a racing incident, you took the more natural wide line which gave a gap that could be used for overtaking, he then took a massive risk by sticking his nose in there, and you didn't notice that and came back across...

Probably more his fault than yours, but just one of those things.

Worth noting that when they first released that track I ran there a lot in the skippy and I've both done his move and been on the outside when it's been done to me, on the outside if you spot the move and give enough room it's highly unlikely they'll get the place anyway as both of the next corners are left handers...

It looked to me like you back end was on its way out anyway? You had left a door open, he tried to take it but the door got shut for one reason or another.

To be fair, the other guy was simply following the racing line at the point of contact and although it is not compulsory, some will say that maybe you should have yielded, especially if it was a mistake on your behalf which led yourself going wide. It is unfair to expect the guy behind to either take your racing line to avoid contact or to slow down to a level which would jeopardise his own race. Sometimes, mistakes are made and all you can do is let someone pass and work to get the place back. HOWEVER, if it was the first lap, common sense dictates that he was maybe a little too eager.

To be impartial, would be good to see it from the other guys driving position.

i wasnt about to lose it look on the overhead the back end only started sliding when he knocked me and he was in my blind spot and came from so far back i didnt know he was there.

as it was the first few corners of the race i was expecting the front of the grid to be sensible and take it easy though the first few corners.

i would happily have yielded position if he was still on my arse after 1-2 laps rather than risk an incident.

i did however have a fun 6laps or so racing for position with someone later in the race without both of us giving each other room which was pretty awesome.

I did put a question mark, I could not tell.

I freak out when racing starts getting "bumper to bumper", my blood pressure goes through the roof - lol

I'll take it easy at the start but in that situation I would've at least considered it, the gap was there, you were relatively slow, definite chance right there...

Although he came from far back you should've been able to see him and act accordingly imo, this is one of those times where the incident isn't really your fault (I stick by my 'racing incident' verdict) but you could have avoided the incident (and in this instance kept your place)

Think I am going to bite the bullet and get this sorted out tomorrow. I am simply having too much fun with this relatively obsolete version. How long would it take to get into racing the mighty FW31?

OMG OMG Finally no longer a rookie :D :D

took me long enough mind you,, especially when you get races like that last one where one guy just spend the whole race armming people that went near him

i would say 2-3 weeks ,, lol as took me long enough to learn how the rating system worked,,, i was to busy thinking it was on position, that was running off track ,, cutting corners,, etc and not realizing it was taking my SR down

Yeah. The next two corners are left handers anyway so you can afford to have someone on your inside there and still keep your place.

It's 50/50 IMO. You shouldn't turn down into someone but he didn't really have enough of his car inside you to be claiming the apex.

whos the guy posting the comment on youtube? thats a 50-55mph corner... you were SLOW which is why i taped the break mid corner i didnt miss a breaking point.

check the speed and line this guy uses

faster lap than any of us managed in the race.

If you concentrate specifically on getting no incidents and put some effort in you can rank up very quickly now with the fast track, but your still talking a good 2-3 weeks minimum to get the A-Class I'd say, and if you're not that clean/consistent a chunk longer...

You might be disappointed with the racing for the FW31 though, because to be properly quick in it requires both setup making skills and a huge amount of practice, even to the point that it's out of reach of a fair few people, the participation is low, much better racing in the lower series imo

Well 3 dongle bought and I can finally get back into Iracing :D Been giving most cars a proper go today and I have to say they have done some outstanding work on the ntm. Havent been able to get on iracing for 2 months and I have noticed a huge change in behaviour of how the car handles, finally the slow spin (grip) problem is gone!! I didn't realise how much that was sucking up my confidence.

I can't really race on this net connection I dont think but what I can do is hotlap, relearn my racing technique and learn about motec. good times!
