Daily Mail strikes again..

I have been to Mexico, 2 years ago. Was fine, the old district is amazing. You know you're safe if you can find Starbucks and burger king.

There really is no censorship though, some of the stuff I saw in the paper was shocking. The drug war over there is something else, even bloggers are killed by cartel en mass for posting their opinions. Mexico is dangerous no doubt, but so is south-east London. Just stay in the safe parts and have fun.

why doesnt the goverment of mexico just take a few helis and planes and bomb the **** out of the areas these people operate from.

they must know what areas they are in growing and producing vast amounts of drugs

They deployed the army in 2006 and the killings increased.

OMG

My colleague is going there on his honeymoon this year

Won't be a problem, unless they cross or criticise the drug cartels.

It won't drop but 1) Junkies won't have to resort to crime because legalised drugs will be off the black market and mass produced and thus cheap and 2) Less danger of overdosing because legalised drugs will be well regulated.

Not to mention that the profits won't go to the cartels so they will dry up.

Governments don't think this way though.

From what I've read online small quantities of all drugs are decriminalised in Mexico.

the problem isnt the producers, it's the USERS..... no demand will mean less supply.... if there is demand, you'll never eradicate supply....

unfortunately you'll never get rid of all users, but our society takes a far too lenient approach.....

Nice daily mail approach to drug policy there...
