I stepped foot into a local newsagent for the first time in a long time recently (a weekly shop at Tesco has everything I need), I was stood waiting in line that stretched down the magazine aisle when I looked down to find I was right next to the PC/Console Gaming Mags. I thought for a moment just how long it has been since I actually bought a PC/Gaming Mag.

I can honestly say OcUK forums and general internet surfing has replaced my desire to buy magazines. At best guess the last gaming magazine I must have bought was an Edge magazine years and years ago.

I can still remember visiting my local newsagent when I was a youngster to get the next issue of PC Zone or PC Gamer the day it came out. The high gloss finish cover in my hands with a demo disc attached. The smell of newly printed ink, ahh, those were the days.

Anyone still buy the mags or recall the ones you used to buy religiously?

Still buy and read Games TM but otherwise no, The PC gaming magazine in particular as poor these days compared to what they were pre widespread internet

I used to read PC Gamer but stopped when I found you could get the same thing for free on the internet.

Stopped a long time ago but still have a few PC Format demo discs lying around - never could throw them away!

Always get a pc gamer mag for when i go on holiday, nice reading on the beach or in the plane.

Still buy and read Games TM
Thats probably the one I'd get if I was going to buy a games mag, used to read pc gamer a lot stopped reading just after they changed the formatting to the same as the american magazine.

Used to find the demo dvd really handy when I had slow internet, I still remember THAT far cry 2 review. Oh dear.

I buy loads of magazines, but I stopped getting the gaming ones for a while, sometimes I met get GameTM but after seeing the good review they gave Syndicate not so much.

I had a subscription with PC Zone until they ceased publishing. I bought my first copy about 12 years or so ago, and only missed maybe half a dozen issues since. Was pretty gutted when I found out they were finished.

I don't bother with any other magazines, although I read PC Gamer's website regularly.

Occasionally get Games TM, but mostly for the console stuff I'd never hear about otherwise.

Rock Paper Shotgun is pretty much all the guys who used to write reviews for PC Gamer and PC Zone, except now they don't have an editor standing over them, and they're a lot better for it.

Last PC games mag I bought was the final issue of PC Zone. Been a subscriber of Edge Magazine for a good 3-4 years now - I prefer my gaming fix to be multi-format and cross-industry, and imo Edge is the best gaming mag bar none.

I should add that Edge does still focus on PC gaming quite regularly.

If pc gamer still had the quality it had years ago, id still buy it. About 6/7 years ago it did a crash (old spectrum mag) and went all tacky, so now it's relegated to buying 2/3 times a year when i bunk away in the tent for a few days.

That said, Retro Gamer drops through my letter box every month... quality magazine, well put together by people totaly invested in what they're doing... you've any love for the 8/16/32bit era.. you should be supporting these guys... quality stuff that doesn't float around the internet.
