please excuse my ignorance but... isn't a r32 golf mk5 pretty much the same car? If so then why the hell does it cost nearly twice as much, there can't be that much scene tax...
You haven't looked at the full picture have you. On top you will need to upgrade related parts, injectors, exhaust, brake pads, brakes, clutch to handle the extra power. It will cost you far more then 4k, especially if you not fitting it yourself, closer to 10k.
Actually the only thing that might need upgrading with a stage 1 supercharge to 280bhp would be clutch, and that will only die a little sooner -it won't need upgrading for some time. Every stock part can handle it.
[...]t (hp has nothing to do with it torque is what matters)
i disagree the stock clutch is absolutely fine at 280 ish lb ft (hp has nothing to do with it torque is what matters)
the stock 4motion brakes are AWEFULL they just arnt upto the job with stock power i turned mine blue with a 2 minute spirited drive with standard power lol
faded badly but didnt wtfsplodeThey went blue but did the fade/fail/break at al?
Well torque is a function of RPM and HP, so it does kind of![]()

That's the dilemma
Currently driving a stock na 2.8L V6 4motion Golf, for those without sigs enabled, producing about 204bhp, 200ft-lb torque, and about 7sec 0-62.
Really odd. Think my 4mo brakes are pretty good. Not stunning but certainly very good.
look at the price of Lupo Gtis for another example of the stupidity of dubbers paying through the nose.
on your corrado? theyr not bad on a light car like the rado and mk3 golf but theyr **** on a 1500kg mk4 4mo
No, on my 4Mo. I own both a Corrado and a 4Mo. The Corrado brakes really are rubbish
Admittedly when I test drove a mk5 R32 recently I nearly put myself through the windscreen when I gently tapped the brakes. But I always found my 4Mo brakes fairly decent.
