Has anyone had this running an a 5870 eyefinity edition card? I keep getting a card is not supported error when trying to run the game...

Oddly, I'm still exploring through NM. I just find it more rewarding getting all the drops rather than rushing lots xD

Frenzy, there's a known issue with the 5XXX series I think, you need to get the right drivers - but can't quite remember which ones etc...

Hmm looks like people were getting visual artifacts with those cards so they disabled the ability to play the game until you installed 12.4a drivers, I'll give that a go to see if it runs...

Haha, I guess you haven't seen the 70 page thread about it on the diablo forums then?

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I have actually, before you go on your epic sarcastic rolleyes trip, perhaps it might be prudent to recall that I was one of the people actually trying to help you out when you couldn't work out how to run a traceroute to Blizzard's servers the other day. You might also notice that I specifically stated "I don't think anyone else here has any "stuttering" issues whatsoever.". The simple fact remains that you're here almost everyday posting up about this issue, but very few people on this forum are experiencing the same issue as constantly as you when they're playing, so it seems logical that it might have something to do with your PC or connection to the internet rather than a specific issue with Blizzard. It possibly could be, but you would think that it would affect absolutely everyone rather than such a small demographic right?

Next time try not to read into things quite so much. There's no need for all the rolleyes, especially toward someone that has already spent their own time trying to help you out with the issue.

Anyone got any tips to lower ping?

For example, in wow I ping at 20-50ms, and input feels instantaneous.

In D3, I seem to get around 200-250, sometimes 300 (yellow) and there is noticable delay sometimes.

What's the difference caused by? How can I fix? The servers location probably aren't any different distance wise.

I had an email from Amazon saying they did not know when the limited edition game guide would be released, together with a link pointing me to another listing for the limited edition, except this one was £6 more expensive than the first.

Bit of a low tactic to be honest. So I picked up the regular one in Game this weekend.

For those that are waiting to bleat about game guides being useless.... I would say the same thing about alcohol :-).

I have a shelf full of them and I collect them. I love reading them on my second play through to make sure I get 100% of everything. And they usually smell nice .... My Mass Effect 3 limited hard cover is pure crack.

I get the same. I think they're just under very heavy load at the moment, although I really don't get why they still seem to not be able to cope with the load now.

Exactly, I picked up the Skyrim guide (which to be fair is actually pretty epic in itself) and really fancied one to accompany my WoW Collector's Edition. I've also ordered the "Book of Cain" which I'm really looking forward to.

Sometimes it's just nice to have something extra. To top that all off, I paid £7.99 for the hardcover guide from Amazon :)

To be honest lads game guides have really come a long way in the last year or 2, people are really putting in the effort now to not just help you get the basics of the game but continuing to excel at it once you get more experienced. I've got a few now, I think the Diablo III limited edition was my 7th guide and it's really beautiful. Plus for somebody like me who never had the pleasure of playing Diablo II, it really helped me out getting up and going.

Tip for upgrading gear whilst levelling, the vendors have loot for sale within a particular 'tier' range which is set when you load your game at your current level.

If you level up, try going back to check the vendor as sometimes a higher tier of loot will become available. This does not always happen and sometimes the loot is pretty bad (as it will generate an item towards the lower end of the new tier).

So for me it went like this, loaded hell new tristam at level 51, dinged and went back at 52, a 185dps 1h mace was on the vendor when all the weapons that were dropping or were for sale previously were around 150dps. ended the game and started a new one, dinged 53, went back to the vendor and there was a 199dps weapon available.

so long story short, check dem vendors when you ding

(sorry if its already been stated before - not read all the pages :P)

It's a good tip, before I had a few of them to pass down to alts, I always checked for +damage rings. A couple of these can make a big difference, regardless of how bad your weapon is :)

It just annoys me when people say it's system related when it quite clearly isn't.

It's like when achievements stopped working for some people, is that to say their achievements stopped working because something is wrong with their PC?

To be honest and fair, I think they are doing pretty well considering. I design/build datacentres for a living, it's not easy to get the scaling/expectations right from the offset.

It is quite easy for all us sitting at home to say they should have spent more or got more servers etc etc. But no responsible company is going to order millions of $'s of equipment on day one to support as many users as they possibly can, only to find that 90% of the equipment is redundant and not being utilised.

Don't get me wrong, they aren't perfect and they have a real bad habit of not communicating properly and from previous launches (Blizz & Activ combined) should have learnt a thing or two about initial expected numbers. That said, maybe that's what they have done, I remember reading somewhere that on a WoW expansion launch they get a massive peak for the first 7-14 days which gradually tails off, catering to the initial peak from the start could leave racks and racks of servers with nothing to do a month later.

Anyhow I'm just babbling now. I'm bored at work and can't wait to get back home to play.

As for latency, I get the odd spikes here and there, had a few issues when the servers came back online yesterday, however none of it has been unplayable at all. While the EU servers were off I played the US ones and well that was terrible, sometimes had a good couple of second delay on casting :(

I think it is system related, if it was server related everyone would be getting the problem.

I used to have a slight stutter, especially when big new packs of mobs spawned or I lept across the screen on my Barb, but since moving the install location to my solid state (also system) drive, not a single stutter :)
