***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

I think he has a Nexus, and he tried an iPhone and thought it was rubbish! :p

i see :) i guess its not a worthy upgrade from either nexus/s2/onex/s :) you upgrade if you really want the latest headset i know i want one but i cant afford to spend 270 for one sim free atm :o

It depends really on what you need. For people struggling with 16GB space on the Nexus it would be a pretty great upgrade, or if they really want an improved camera, etc.

If not though, the screen is fairly similar, the performance is fairly similar (just not in benchmarks :p), stock ICS is arguably always going to win over TouchWiz, etc.

I'd say it's definitely a worthy upgrade from the One S and S2 purely for the 720p screen (which is lovely).

Galaxy S3 Handset - £25
£26 per month - 24 months
£30 cashback (quidco)

Anyone find a better deal then that?

true but then again i really dont mind the screen res the s2 has :/ yes it is behind times but its not as if i find it difficult to read something or i need to zoom in a lot to make the text readable either :o

Res on the s2 is not half bad, I dont notice a big differnce between it and the 4s or Nexus.

What I'm waiting for is a decent CM9 rom to come out or some skins, personally love the functionality you get with touchwiz but we all know its just ugly when put side by side with ICS.

P.S. Looking at reviews theres atleast 1 million usefully things in this new version of touchwiz that samsung really failed to highlight, so many usefully gestures that I can actual see using ever day, things like the screenshot would be very handy and extremely fast. All looks to be 1 epic phones, even started to think it looks rather beautiful :D. Just need some hands on time.

im keeping the nexus, as its better looking :p adn i have worked out that the 3 unlimited deal can be had for £15 per month PAYG, so about £19 per month saving so about £450, probably wouldnt get that selling it.

Now that you can get the Nexus for around £240 directly from google the prices have just hit rock bottom.

thats crazy! glad i signed for a really cheap £10/month contract! If phones are diving in price to this degree i might do the same as what i am doing with GPUs, just waiting 6 months after release!

From XDA:

Nice to hear. But you do realize that polycarbonate is just another kind of thermoplastic ploymer (read: plastic). It's got some unique properties that make it particularly suitable for a mobile phone's casing and so it's indeed good news for us prospective SGS3 owners. But however we put it, it's still plastic - which is not necessarily a bad thing. The One X is plastic too... and it's just the material thickness and surface processing that is different from the SGS3 - matte versus gloss (or hyperglazed as Samsung calls it).

While it is polycarbonate, it's not really of much relevance as it's not being used in the same manner that Nokia and HTC have used it.

How have they used it any differently? They didn't make a phone casing with it? Oh wait, that's right... they made enclosed devices without expandable storage.

Really? Did someone think it was something other that treated plastic?
