***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

How have they used it any differently? They didn't make a phone casing with it? Oh wait, that's right... they made enclosed devices without expandable storage.

You honestly don't know the difference? The One X and Lumia 800 are both a unibody with a totally different feel (important) to what Samsung have used.

People have praised the design and feel of those devices, not just the fact that it's polycarbonate therefore it's good. It's just a word used to refer to the slightly different design in most cases.

I'm still angry at phone manufacturers that don't give the option of expandable storage, i.e. MicroSD card slot, on their devices if you haven't figured that out by now. :)

Yes, they are silly really, but that has little to do with the feel of the material being used, and more to do with the fact they insist on a unibody - which is great, but has its flaws.

At the end of the day both HOX and S3 are plastic - I've yet to feel the S3 but the HOX was nothing special at all. The only proper premium feeling phone is the iP4/S - and it's not as slippery either.

S2 with out the mesh case on is a disaster waiting to happen. I hope the S3 is a bit grippy as I don't want a mesh case on it.

I think the One X is in a close second behind the iPhone 4S for look and feel. The slippery nature of it is a flaw though, yeah.

The back of the S3 is going to be more ergonomic, no question about that.

I expect the next iPhone to wipe the floor with the lot of them though.

Go damn it why wont Three let you pre-order the phone now on their website so i can get some mean cashback on it

Got an update peeps, my uncle who I asked to visit Westfield today was actually waiting until tonight so he could email a bunch of us about his experience, they did have the S3 at the popup shop in Westfield and here's what he had to say:

I spoke to him on the phone to get more details and his thoughts on it as he's the one I mentioned before who pre-ordered via CPW and got the Tab 10.1 free for being one of the first 1000 (or few hundred should I say due to CPW staff raping the offer!).

Anyway, he currently has a Sony Vivaz so this will be his first smartphone, up until now his only exposure to Android and smartphones in general is my phones but he said the S3 felt really solid in the hand, not big at all and that it wasn't slippery and had quite a bit of grip due to the materials used. He liked the white one more than the blue one and that under the store lighting which was bright, the blue one did change shade accordingly.

He mentioned the screen, on how clear it was and how nice it looked when looking at photos and videos. He commented on the camera and some of the issues he noted were supposedly because it was a demo handset the staff said. He seemed to be a big fan of the gesture actions and is looking forward to getting the phone more than before now.

Oh and he got a badge out of it too ^^

Nice, I want a badge too :D

The S-Pen features are a real bonus, esp with that 4.8" screen.

Ergonomic are a bit pointless when it comes to these big phones. Most the time they just sit flat in your palm rather than gripping it like a smaller phone.

The Titan has the best design so far! Very similar to the One X but it's sharper, made from aluminium and gives you access the internals. I'd kill for a 4.3" Android/W8 version with the latest kit. The One S and Xperia P have great designs too.

The S3 stylus is the C Pen, which I think is just capacitive. Doesn't the note use the S pen which is capacitive with wacom stuff, so pressure sensitive?
