***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

Uhuh.

Anyway, back to the S3. That P4U one surely won't include the flipcase free but instead the normal Samsung case, the same as everyone else?

Went into Orange to get a Microsim in preparation for next Wednesday, was told to phone CS on 150 and get one sent out. Urgh but fine that makes sense.

Called them, took 10 minutes to get through, explained everything and was told I would be passed through to the correct department. Another 10 minutes on hold and I'm asked what phone I'm getting so I say Galaxy S3 and they say it's not on their system so they can't give me one.

I'm like WTF! She puts me on hold for 10 minutes to speak to her supervisor. By the time she's got back I just say, right I'm gonna tell you I'm getting an iPhone to get one sent out. She says it won't work as the Microsim will need to be either 16GB, 32GB or 64GB.

I'm again like WTF no sim cards are that size at all, I just want my current Sim card but in Microsim form. She says they can't send me one till the phone is released and it's on their system. So I explain I'll buy the phone on release day and then have to wait 4 days to be able to use it. Argh!

She then offers me £5 credit on my account, tells me to go to a market and buy any microsim I see and then call them back and they will link this microsim to my account.

Such a massive ballache.

I'm just going to attempt to cut it I think.

I am going to go back into the Orange shop and kick off though, I can't over the phone as I understand about 1 in every 3 words spoken by the CS agents!

LOL thats just so stupid that its hard to believe...microsim needs to be 16, 32 or 64gb?? ermmm hilarious.

Tbh mate id just buy a sim cutter from ebay for a couple of quid and cut yours down. Thats what i did with my Tmo sim when i got an iphone4, bought a sim cutter and cut it down, worked perfectly fine but had to pop to into the local tmo store to get it replaced as on my One X it wasnt working very well...charged me £10 but the girl there didnt bat an eyelid and just handed a new microsim to me.

Find me one for £2 and I will.

I saw one on a four letter website last week for £4 but can't find it anymore. Rainforest is £5 and it's just annoying.

You should be able to phone up and get one posted to you.

Mine was £3.46 at the four letter online store that has the same name as the new android market place...

T-Mobile charges £10 annoyingly so I thought it's a better idea for me to buy a cutter.

Actually, thinking about it, if there's anybody who will need to borrow a cutter living in West London, let me know. We can arrange a meet up or something.

That's the one, but I can't see it on the website anymore :(

EDIT: Found it now, will order. Still sodding annoyed at Orange though.

I found the best course of action (when I was with Orange years ago) was to avoid any contact with their customer services at all costs and go do everything in store and if they say call the number then call it in store so there's no faffing around.

Well I'm back from Westfield/Samsung Pop-Up store and what can I say - the blue looks pretty damn horrendous.

A few things that bugged me

- no brightness adjust when swiping status bar
- because the phone is blue and not black you can see a tiny black border around the screen - you can notice it in the pic above - very annoying to me.
- The white model looks better - and I dislike white phones in general
- Same cheap feel to the home button; like on S2
- Blue is DAMN FUGLY.
- I wished they made the screen brighter - it's about the same as the S2.

Things I liked:

- Smooth and fast
- Felt nice-ish in the hand
- Can change font size of UI
- Pentile Matrix not an issue

So. I'm not rushing out to get one - unless it's a really, really good deal.

Damn I thought I wanted a blue one but after your shots I think I want a white one

EDIT: I thought this screen was way brighter than an S2, something like 50% more?????

I'm sticking with the blue one still.

When the black one comes out I'll buy the black housing but I won't ever want a white phone. AMOLED + white phones = No!

At least the black border won't be a problem for me as my whole theme and app layout is all black anyway.

I'm never really one to base my purchases on style over substance no matter how much better the HTC One series phones look better than the S3. :D

Like I told my colleague: I would have bought a HTC One X if it gave me storage space and a big battery/removeable battery. Her HTC One X still looks great though even in dark grey.

Damn Samsung! They will probably release a black version in September I reckon.
