You should have way more than that at level 42, even with the rubies they will only add 100 or so DPS. I've also got high strength gear grouped with vitality.

Yeah, well I bought a weapon of the AH which puts out about 100DPS, but my gear isn't very strength/damage orientated. I'm sitting at about 11k HP at the moment though.

Just started act 2, i know it's only normal mode but i found the butcher incredibly easy. His hook was quite simple to dodge but even if i did get caught he barely did any damage. I've only got 2 AH items (main weap and off hand) but the rest are pretty much all from levelling the blacksmith and using the items i can craft through him. Is it supposed to be like this? At present i can just run into anything knowing i won't die.

Put it this way, if you don't die in normal then your on the right track. normal is like the tutorial.

Any other barbs on act 2 inferno? Really struggling with it compared to act 1. Managed to kill all the bosses first try in act 1 but now I'm dying on normal packs. Sitting at around 40k health 10k dps and around 400 on my resists as well.

I also died on normal, twice actually. I didn't realize this was so heavily looked down upon by the Diablo gods oh dear! -_- ... A boss hasn't managed to kill me yet but there's been a few times where I've seen 6 or 7 enemies and I've used the Barbarian's leap ability to get stuck in only to notice as the screen shifts a long with me that there isn't 7 enemies but about 70 enemies, twice this happened and I couldn't escape I just got surrounded and beaten down.

Act2 is brutal, I've come to the conclusion I need better gear so I'm farming Act 1 at the mo. This is on my DH with 40k health and 32kdps

edit: bit gutted with how far they have nerfed act 1 tbh, its too easy now imo and just makes the step up to Act 2 a massive kick in the nuts when you get there. The main reason I think is that normal mobs in act 1 dont have any nasty abilities innately really, so packs are totally gimp and the elite versions will only have the elite affixes and no real innates to worry about (other than maybe health linked teleporting jailer mortars that spawn adds /shiver)

I have no problem with the game being hard, if other people are beating it it tells me 1 of 3 things

1) I have the wrong build
2) My gear isnt good enough
3) I dont have the skills

All things I can work on.

If you die at all in normal mode, you should probably give up gaming entirely.

Aw bless you, you're so sweet.

I died in normal, no excuses, on a Demon Hunter even. Am I that bad that I should just kill myself? Or sometimes does **** just happen? ;)

Gz :) What class are you playing?

Wizard :)

No cheesy Energy Armor, had to go tank mode for it. 52k HP, 6k armor, 600 all resistances, -20% melee damage passive. Even with all that tanking, he almost one shot me near the end (when he smacks both his hands down together). Also one of the little green puddles would have one shot me, left me with 4k HP left from full HP and I had Diamond Skin up (21k absorb).

Edit: Just had a crack at Act 3, trash mobs are serious business! one of the flying things just two shotted me in tank mode.

Out of interest, has anyone ever had a health globe that hasn't healed them entirely... I'm starting to think the 'health globe heals x more life' is pointless....

The thing is, everybody's moaning about the AH etc... But by end game, which probably won't take too long to get to, what you really are looking for is that ultimate item. It'll cost stupid amounts in the AH, or you can go hunting for it, or you can take a gamble on the BS...

That's it - you nailed it.

I've stayed clear of the AH until last night near the end of Act III, I have a Barbarian with dual wielding axes and I just didn't feel like they were doing the job anymore it was taking me ages to kill enemies. I was hoping some good weapons would drop off a few of those packs but no luck so I went to the AH and grabbed myself 2 new weapons for 6k. I felt a little dirty after doing it I won't lie but I think if you've been unlucky with your drops in the game there's nothing wrong with using the AH to help yourself out a bit.

Simply put, you're expected to trade. I can't begin to tell you how long I spent in the trade channel in Diablo 2. 90% of the time the drops you got were useless to you personally.

And trust me, 4-player co-op in hell mode from act 2 onwards... You're gonna need the best gear you can equip. Packs of champions with extra health, molten, mortar, freezing, vortex, and/or (my favourite) invulnerable minions.

I've had some that I thought didn't, but it might just be that I was taking a pounding at the moment I got the globe.
