***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

Mobiles.co.uk are offering it for free now on T-Mobile for £26/month
300 mins Any Network Anytime
+ Unlimited Texts + 750MB data.

Misses just got this one, you can get 30 quid through quidco.
Although as mentioned before the web speeds may be capped which is why I went for Orange :) won't really effect her much though

Tempting just to go SIM free on this, the cost is cheaper than most deals on the long run and Im getting fed up with all the 18-24 month deals these days

Anyone see and offers or extras that you get for you £499 :p

Mm you would need to find 2 years of contract at 130 quid to be the t-mobile deal though.

Lol, Just called Orange again and now they say they cant offer any upgrade/loyalty deals until the phone is out. (presumably to cash in on all the people signing up as new customers)

Well **** them. Given my 30 days notice and will try and find a better deal elsewhere.

I'll probably move my home phone and broadband elsewhere aswell just out of spite :D:p

I had a similar experience mate, they literally don't give 2 @#@#@
I'm going to cancel my current one with them on the phone when I get my new one.
The assistants are pants, they don't even try to get money from you, and most of the conversion was silence from them? It like they decided to be rude from the start

I am due an upgrade now from my iphone4.. this is the only phone that takes my fancy. Is there anything about this phone that makes it worse than the htc1x?

Also.. how do you get your music onto it? is it easy ? is there lots of faffing around etc?
And have any of converted from the apple ecosystem to this and found any issues?

Firstly, the One X has a slightly faster camera aperture, f2 vs f2.6 on the S3. In the real world this means virtually nothing though. So consider that in the same league as More Megapixels = Better Camera!

Other than that though, one could argue the design of the One X (edit!) is more pleasing to look at which is probably true actually but it's not a comfortable phone to hold at any angle due to the sharp edges.

As for the storage question, you plug in USB from PC and select USB Mass Storage, transfer music as if it was a USB stick from Windows or do it via a file manager app on the phone as the S3 has channel bonded WiFi for double the bandwidth.

I would just use 1 month rolling Sim with 3 @15 a month AYCE

Sell SG3 in a year when the 4 come out ;) for ~£275, (still getting £225 for my S2 now) and its not that bad a spend
This way i have a lot of flexibility in terms of network and future upgrades for effectively £90 cost in comparison the the t-mobile deal

And as you can see from the Orange guys above everyone shafts their existing customers when a new phone come out, they couldnt care less cause they know they got you for another year and theres nowt you can do....without paying out anyway or signing on for another 24 months

The networks offer nothing more in terms of security or insurance on their long tarriffs which most people use their bank for now anyway.

2 years is a long time to have the same phone at the rate things are currently changing

Not just the same phone, but to be paying the same monthly charge on the tariff! The savings alone from the £13 a month on AYCE almost pays for a new phone itself compared to my last Voda 24month contract :p

Got my confirmation emails from CPWH this morning - it had the following:

Order Contents:
1 x Free Connection £0.00
1 x WBW Sandisk micro SD 32GB for Galaxy S 3 £0.00

I'm assuming that the Free Connection part is the phone yes......?

Just cut my virgin sim card down to size! Seems to work fine with the adapter for now.

Is that what the adapter is for, to use the microsim in a normal sim slot? I wondered why it was in my cutter box! The packaging was all Japanese :p

All you can eat = AYCE :)

Edit*
I'll have a go with the cutter, Chinese build quality best not do me over today!

Edit**
It worked! Although it was a close shave :p

Plus by selling it any time before May 2014 you avoid the inevitable resale price collapse as 9 million or more S3's come onto the market, after a year or so, if I've got my maths right, it should work out sub £30 a month.

I'm hoping my Note augmented by ICS, whenever it gets here, can keep me satisfied till black arrives, I want the black screen surround and wonder what a hyperglazed black back will be like, sadly I'll probably be wiling to pay a premium on the current price for black, presuming nowt better's out or on the immediate horizon.

Cool vampiric black Halloween themed release, late Q3, for post summer of sport marketing???

Too afraid to try it now, just in case it doesn't work!

I've read elsewhere of people jamming them in when using the adapter, I'm guessing it's slots like on the 7.7 where you push the sim in under pressure till it clicks and a bit of the micro sim raises slightly creating a barb.
