***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

Other than that though, one could argue the design of the One X (edit!) is more pleasing to look at which is probably true actually but it's not a comfortable phone to hold at any angle due to the sharp edges.

LOL seriously I know your a huge Samsung fanboi but have u even held a One X??? Because quite clearly your comments prove you havent...the one X doesn't have any sharp edges, i'm sat here holding mine and I don't know where you get this notion that it has sharp edges and it's not comfortable to hold at any angle. You sure your not talking about the iphone4 or 4s as they have sharp edges and are uncomfortable to hold...i should know as I had one for a couple of yrs ie the iphone4. Unless you have girly hands lol and cant stand sharp objects in your hands, which in that case there's no helping you :p

Compared to the SGS3, the one X is just as nice to hold...my criticism the SGS3 is that it's a slightly heavier phone which I don't know is a good thing or bad thing...plus the one X is slightly taller when I held them together.

But that's not say the SGS3 is a pile of **** because it isn't, it's a very nice phone to hold but personally I think the one X is a slightly better looking phone and feels nicer in the hand.

As I said I know your a huge Samsung fanboi but at least be a bit objective in your criticism dude:p

Just had a wee look into this phone over the last hour or so. I wasn't really wanting to go with Android again but I'm tempted! How do you guys think it'll compare to the Lumia 900 and iPhone 4S?

All you can eat = AYCE :)

Edit*
I'll have a go with the cutter, Chinese build quality best not do me over today!

Edit**
It worked! Although it was a close shave :p

Thankfully T-Mob are sending out a microsim with the phone which I then activate online somewhere....

I'm not a Samsung fanboi at all. If HTC had the same camera as the S2, an SD card and an AMOLED screen then I'd be using the Sensation instead of the S2. I go with whatever has the best specs and thus fits my needs, just so happens it's a Samsung this time round again.

As for the sharp edges, of course the One X has sharper edges. If yours doesn't then it's obviously rubbed down from its new sharpness. Quite how you can say it doesn't have a sharp edge is a mystery because I'm not the only one to make comment on this. Even review sites has stated this.

BTW, my comment on the weight difference wasn't a positive or negative, it was just an observation and stating of difference. There's only grams difference in single digits. In the real world it doesn't matter either side.

Mm you would need to find 2 years of contract at 130 quid to be the t-mobile deal though.

carriers are very nice to people that stick with them after your contract is up(sim only ;)).

well for me, renew'd my t-mobile for a year @ £5.53 a month 300 mins/unlimted text/data, so you can beat it :) just ;)

So what do you think?

The one plan with three for:

£34 a month = £816 with free phone or

My current contract + phone:

£500 phone + 2 years worth of 300 sim only 1 month rolling contract = £860

I don't think I'll ever use tethering and 300min voice calls is plenty for me, the data is all you can eat but I think this is 1GB?

Really tough call for me. I don't think I'll use anywhere near what the one plan includes but I have the tethering if I ever want to try it. I don't think I'll change contract within 2 years either.
Another person in this thread mentioned that better contracts do come out later on so that is what is making the decision tough for me.

Oh I went to carphonewarehouse today and asked when demo units were going to be in, they told me june 13th :(

I am due an upgrade now from my iphone4.. this is the only phone that takes my fancy. Is there anything about this phone that makes it worse than the htc1x?

Also.. how do you get your music onto it? is it easy ? is there lots of faffing around etc?
And have any of converted from the apple ecosystem to this and found any issues?

You should try them both. Overall the S3 is better but the design and subjectively superior screen on the One X could sway you.

As for sharp edges... what? No sharp edges here.

Hold the X, the creases around the sides and the corners, they're sharp andcan feel uncomfortable holding it for a length of time like when gaming.

As in, the edges are not curved and smooth like previous HTC phones.

Sharp doesn't necessarily mean it will cut you know! It's not smooth and seamless so therefore it is sharp.

The One S is exactly the opposite, it is perfect for long periods of gaming or whatever else requires holding the phone for a while.

Mobiles.co.uk are offering it for free now on T-Mobile for £26/month
300 mins Any Network Anytime
+ Unlimited Texts + 750MB data.

Typical that, I order this deal and pay £20 for the handset which I thought was a cracking deal, and a few days later it becomes free. Wonder if its worth cancelling and ordering again to save £20? I might just ring them and ask nicely. :o

Do you mean the rear, where the sides meet the back? That isn't rounded.

But it isn't sharp. Certainly never going to be uncomfortable. If something was to make it uncomfortable it would be the size, and all 4.7" phones suffer from that problem.

The front is rather nice at the edges of the screen, they're very smooth and that's something you notice and feel when your finger is at the edge of the screen.

The edges on the sides and the corners yeah.I found them to be sharper than I'd deem comfortable and only noticed it fully after reading some reviews and picking up the X after that point. It's certainly more obvious though if you've owned curved smooth phones all over for years though I guess.

Been to westfield/white city today and went to the samsung store to check out the sgs3

I must say its nice phone ! Both colours look good but I will be getting the blue version.

Perform was fast, really liked the video overlay and there was no lag ! Size was perfect for me and Touchwiz is much better then the older version !

Did they mention anything about stock? If you asked that is!

If not then a note to others over the next few days of you go down, please ask about stock availability!

Damn you!

Well Play have not emailed about any delay so I can only imagine that things are still on call for the 30th!

I doubt they will know about stock, as when I asked CPW all they said was you have to order online and then we get send the pre order phones to our stores !

CPW policy is not to tell stores the time that stock is due to arrive for security purposes apparently, that's what CPW in Hedge End told me anyway.
