Hey guys. Im new to forum and need peoples help.

This year i built my first gaming pc and so far everything is working fine apart from my new ssd (Crucial m4 128gb).

So after disconnecting my hard drive and connecting the ssd and installing windows and downloading all drivers for mobo etc what do i do next? i plugged my HDD back in and it wants me to install/download all my games again. Is this normal?

Also is there anything else i should do? Sorry for being such a douche

Do you have your games installed via steam or just from disks? There are a few tweaks you can do for your windows install, if you google around there are plenty of guides.

Check all the shortcuts on your desktop and make sure they are correct. Are your drive letters the same now?

Some games and other programs write files into windows directories. If these are missing due to a reinstall, they will not work and will require a reinstall.

Best to save the 'saved game' data before a reinstall.

Also if you have imaged the old drive, you can pull files from that if necessary.
