I've been searching high and low for a decent budget 7" tablet for a few weeks now. Although I've got a New iPad I don't really want to take it out the house let alone on my holidays!

So I decided I want a 7" tablet running ICS for under £150 and of decent quality and I think I've found it.

The support isn't going to be huge atm as it's a new tablet but the specs and the build quality look fantastic on the Ramos.

The W17 Pro as a A9 Dual Core along with 1GB DDR3 and 16GB storage. While the Ainol and Eken have lower specs i.e. All winner single core, 512mb DDR and 8GB storage.

Would it be worth getting one delivered from a UK seller within a couple of days for £145 or taking the risk of import duty and waiting for a couple of weeks at £110?

£145 is too close to Galaxy tab2 7.0 money - £200 - will be a much better tablet.

I have only just found out you can get a Galaxy Tab for £200! Think I've been looking too long and hard at the Tabs from China..

This might tempt me to spend another £50 :)

Would I be better off getting the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus Wi-Fi 16GB for £199 instead of the Tab 2 also is ICS available for the plus (don't mind doing it myself)?

ICS will available for the plus - but when is anybodies guess - bit of a hard decision which to get - only thing better on the plus is the more powerful GPU - I'd go the the tab2 and enjoy ICS now.

I think it's more than just faster CPU, It looks like the Plus also has better Cameras, More storage 16GB vs 8GB and a longer lasting battery

I had my mind made up on the Ramus but I think I'll go for one of these Samsungs not quite decided which one though!

I loved the Plus when I had it, only reason I sold it was because my S2 has me addicted to SAMOLED screens.

same camera - 8GB more storage on plus (but both have sd slots) - same batterys on both - CPU 200mhz more on plus.

In all reviews ICS makes a substantial difference to speed and smoothness over HC.

What about the Ainol Novo 7 (Elf or Aurora) Both Have 1024x600 7" Capacitive Screens (Aurora has IPS), 1.2Ghz CPU, 1Gb RAM, 8Gb + (upto) 16Gb SDhc slot, ICS v4.0.3, 2mp Front Camera, All the Extras above and FULL Android Market/Google Play...

Both can be had for about £140(ish)

Having owned both an Aurora and a 7.0 Plus, the Plus/Tab 2 is worth the extra outlay.

Thanks for the link Kona786, very interesting, both tablets for most part are the same apart from having completely different cpu's + gpu's. Gaming wise which would have the most compatible gameloft games and would the real world difference be noticeable?

Simian - I've read loads about various China budget tablets and the Ainol's are regarded as the best with the V2's supposedly coming soon but I would say the Ramos looks to have the same specs as the Elf 2 (when it's release) but is available now for a cheaper price.

But now you can get a 7" Samsung Tab from within the UK for around £50 more without Warranty worries I'd say it makes China Tabs pointless..

If your budget is ~£100, get and Elf or similar.

Once you hit the ~£140 range, you are better off getting a £200 Samsung.

Agreed

My budget was £150 so that means Samsung for me :)

Ok I've decided to go for a Tab 2 but just found out a white one is being release. Hmmmm I already have a black iPad and iPhone so a white Android tab would be a nice change.
