Just spoke to Play who said to change to a white one you have to cancel the blue one and pre order fresh so you would on effect get back into the end of the queue...
 
Vodafone must be absolutely livid right now. I can imagine some legal action coming Samsung's way over this.

All of the legal issues, loss of face and a very angry customer base implies that "it's" quite a big issue that would have incurred greater costs.. hm makes one wonder what it could be???
 
I'm pretty sure people just go by their own experience robbo >_>

I think it would be a bit out of order if they put you in front of people that ordered the white version straight off to be honest. What can they do but put you at the back of the queue? First come first serve.

Unfortunately we can not sell the stock we have due to a fault with the housing of the phone. So Samsung has ordered a call back therefore we need to send them all back to Samsung asap and wait for another batch.

Yeah, it's ultimately Samsung's fault. Pretty poor really, considering the fact that they delayed the announcement of the phone in order to have a better launch.
 
Finally my account as been accepted so I can join you lads on here :D

Been reading for the past couple of weeks, its gone from excitement to being left gutted by Samsung. I find it a disgrace on their part that they have been so quiet on the production and stock issues in the build up to release.

Originially, before today, I've had a pre order with CPW since the 9th of May, have been absolutely buzzing. I called CPW this morning, to check up on my latest order status, and they informed me its highly unlikely it will get dispatched today. I thought fine, I can wait a couple of days. I then popped into P4U and the bloke said he could offer me the exact same contract, just without the free 32GB SD card (which I won't even need for the first few months), he also guaranteed me collection tomorrow morning, as they have about 5 left. So with a fiver deposit, I ordered it.

Cancelled my one from CPW, hoping that P4U won't disappoint me as well.

I was hoping to get the blue version, but hey ho its only a colour and ill be bound to customize it with a case any how.

What would you have them do, put you in front of people like me that ordered the white from day one? Its your decision to change your mind so you join the back of the list.

they we're late to notify customers about the delay - false hope.

they could have given some sort of good-will gesture.
 
So anyone got the blue version?? or have they been called back??. Gonna pass through the Samsung store in Westfield Stratford and see if they have any in stock or if they have been recalled.
 
Hi all, been reading this thread for the last week or so now and felt I had to join to share in your misery/joy.

I have had a white GS3 on order with Phones4U since the 12th May and even up till yesterday been promised it will be shipped today so I recieve it tomorrow however this morning I was on their live chat and now am thinking I may not be getting it. Here is the transcript.

I can see your order is having a slight delay at the moment. Once we have received confirmation from Samsung we will then ship your order an email will then be sent to confirm this. We have no current timescale for this we aim to resolve this as soon as possible. I do thank you for your patience.

We are currently awaiting an update from Samsung as soon as we have this update you will then be informed via email to confirm the release of your order. Is this okay?

So they don't even seem to be able to confirm or deny a delivery or delay. Getting might fed up that some companies are still keeping customers in the dark rather than being honest.

I will be awaiting an email this afternoon with my tracking info! Better come.
 
I'm just going to wait till launch day tomorrow and see what the stock levels are like for the white phone. I think that's the most sensible thing to do right now.
