omg auction sites?

cant see the problem here, apart from the stupid buyer who isnt really making any money by the time fees come out of it - sounds rather dodgy, probably of African origin.

Never heared of Gumtree, will look into it thanks.

Take the same precations that you would with ebay.

Get Home phones numbers & address.
Check it on Google maps.
Build up a rapor with the person you are dealing with.

If the Dude is straight you'll know it, For instance I am currently involved in a deal on swapz & must have phoned the Dude 5 times in a few days & messaged him back & forth maybe ten or so times, Every time the dude is quick with responses & comes over well on the phone, addy checks out etc
If they are genuine why would they mind ? Not fool proof obviously but at least if owt goes wrong you have done all you cold have to protect yourself.
As for Gumtree well that's a collection or pick up kind of place as my search criteria is set to local, Had some Sweet deals off there I can tell ya. Seems to be a right no nonsense kind of place like an old fashioned Local newspapers for sale section.

Yes this is another "omg eb*y" post.

I was trying to sell my 5850 and put the money towards to buy a better GPU. Someone clicked buy it now but hasn't paid yet. While I was checking the guys feedback I noticed he was buying and selling a lot of graphics cards.

So I look at what hes selling and he has listed my graphics card again and has copied word for word, including picture, my auction.

The cheeky ****** is trying to sell it for £30 more on a 3day auction so he can make some money off me and looks like he has done it to lots of other people.

I know this site has a for sale forum but I don't have the time and effort to post hundreds of times over x amount of time just to get access to it.

if you want to screw him over report him to the HMRC. since he is trading he should be paying tax ;)

but to be honest why didnt you do a 5 day auction?

Hi guyz, I just found a quick way to make money.

I'm looking for underprised GPUs on the bay and buying them, then reselling them at a slightly higher price. Make the margin and bob's your uncle.

Right now I've just bought a 5850 and have it already for sale (easy peasy, just copied/pasted the original auction listing) for about £30 more than what I'll pay for it.

There's no risk involved as if I don't manage to sell it I ain't gonna pay the first seller, lol. If I do, I'll just give him the second buyer's address so he can ship it directly to him. Bonus on keeping the shipping fees as well.

What'd you think of my idea GD?

Lol, nice idea, and OP what's the problem? You can't do anything about it and you can't not sell it to him unless he takes too long to pay or something.

Maybe you shouldn't of sold it so cheap?

Annoying thing is I won't even be able to leave him negative feedback......

Why would you leave negative feedback? He hasnt done anything wrong.

If the dealine for payment has passed, flag him as a non-paying bidder.
If not, wait for payment, then send the card to him.

It's cynical and greedy

No it's not, dont be silly.

Copying the auction is a bit lazy, but everything else he is doing is just the basics of business.
It's the same thing that every sales business does (including Overclockers.co.uk)

I have heard a rumour that all the worlds manufacturers have just realised shops are selling their items for more than they bought them for. Sounds like they are going to put a stop to this.
