Will Arya not be going back north along the same route Robb's coming south? She'll obviously be sticking to the woods, but if she catches sight of his banners surely she'll come running?

EDIT: And yeah, Stannis was saved by his own men (just watched the episode now). How he spent an hour strolling along that wall alone killing a couple of people in the first place I didn't quite understand.

The same route? How would she know where he plans to go? Even so, it's quite a ways to get north of King's Landing from Harrenhal from what i can tell.

Can we stop talking about what happens in the book, in this thread please?

This thread is about the TV show, so I dont really want to come into it and start seeing posts about people moaning about something that did or didn't happen in the book.

It spoils it for the people like me who haven't read the book and dont plan too until the TV show is done.

Nobody has been. Regardless, it's more or less the same universe. If the events have happened in the show then it should be fine to talk about them from the book. And why not?

She won't. But if she's going north to avoid Tywin and King's Landing, and if Robb's coming south in pursuit of the Lannisters and to release Sansa (and Arya, who he thinks they still have), it wouldn't be a surprise if they meet.

Can't see that. If he doesn't want to go where she wants to, they won't be going together. Has she listened to anyone for the entire series?

She's always held all the cards though. This might be the first time she's truly dependent on somone, also I think she has 'feelings' for him, she trusts him seeing as how she told him about her being a Stark, also she misled the King's guard by telling them the guy they were after had already been killed. I don't think she would be so quick to dismiss this guy. It might ultimately be her decision but I don't think she will want to part from him at least until they are both in safety.

Only to an extent - even when her dad was trying to force her to flee King's Landing in the first series, she refused flat out, and she held no cards then.

That was Sansa. Arya was perfectly happy to go home, as long as they could take Syrio with them (which Ned said they could, if he would agree). Sansa wanted to stay because of the 'wonderful lifestyle' and how everything was 'just like in the songs' or something like that.

I think that was an important scene in the book, it seems to be the first time Arya is actually nice to Sansa and in reply she just throws a tantrum and storms out.

Well, fair point, but the point stands - she always gets her way. She was either going home with Syrio, or not going home at all. Either way, she's too stubborn to let anyone lead her off in a direction other than that which she has decided on. I guess Robert's son might influence her decision and offer advice, but I'd be amazed if it was anything but her decision ultimately.

Would you be surprised if they consulted and mutually agreed on a destination though? Before this it's all been pretty miniscule stuff, she hasn't known real danger. Bear in mind she is like 10 or something, she's just been a girl who's got her way, now sheunderstands real danger and real fear I think she may be more open to being told what to do by older people, we'll see though I guess, I think she's one of hte favourite chracters though and also such a wildcard with respect to being a quite significant chess piece between the Starks and Lannistars battle.

Watch it from about 1:40 about Tyrion and how Peter Dinklage deviated from his script a bit. This makes him a great actor IMHO - Sees how to make the event have even more impact and does it :)

Awesome episode! Holy ****! The wildfire explosion in particular was immense! :D :) :) :D

One thing I'm confused about (and it didn't make sense when I read it in the books either):

Why did the member of the King's Guard attack Tyrion?

We're not allowed spoilers in this thread. If you think you have to use the spoiler tags you shouldn't be writing it in this thread.

The episode has aired we can talk about why the King's guardsmen attacked Tyrion. We should remember that Cersei left the room early, she might have sent an attack order. There also might have been some subtext between Joffrey and the attacker that we didn't see?

Sansa and the queen bored the hell out of me!, had to skip bits just to get to the interesting parts. Damn thrones is so so slow :(

I thought those were very well written and acted scenes. Obviously a slower pace to the action happening outside.

The last scene with Cersei and Tommen on the throne in the darkened room was top drawer everything, acting, script directing the works.

Liked the nod to the previous season when Sansa picked up the doll Ned got her, obviously wishing her old man was around to come save her. Instead she got the Hound.
