I assume we are to think they handed theon over.
Separately, the world think sthe stark boys are dead, only we know they are not.
I wonder who burned winterfell, i guess this is one of the cliffhangers, and in being such thats why we dont know who burned it, and we dont know the final fate of theon greyjoy, yet...
....hehe, might rhyme with something like freak though

other stories left unfinished to provide cliffhangers also.

I was rather disappointed as the rushed feeling the house of the undying gave me. I had thought there would be much more in the way of flames, the entire building burnt down, which wasnt innthe book in that way, but would have suited danys magics and her ability to resist fire, the dream sequence before she met drogo, she was in a burnt castle, was that meant to be harrenhal?

I thout the joffrey scenes with marg and the likes was done well, in fact all kings landing stuff seems quite sorted, althought different from the books, their use of litterfinger in this season works very well, allowing the same ending from a different pathway.

Briene scenes have improve greatly, i like her now, i think her earlier inability to act might have been the acting style they placed upon her character.

I thik their main issues relate to the numbers of characters they can sucessfully introduce in a season and the number of simultaneous plots they can run, books can split it and ignore people for entire sections, and the author did, tv cant as if ignored people are forgetten.
There may be trouble ahead.

There is some credence here. Everyone outside thinks that they are dead. I am assuming there must be some reason to make the World still think they are dead. Is it too dangerous for them to go South as the likelihood of them running into Lannisters/Baratheon men is far higher ergo, send them North?

That burnt hall looked more like The Iron Throne Room to me. Now, is that the past or the future that it hinted at? ;) (I don't know as I have not read the books so don't read too much into the wink :))

Ah the iron throne room, yes.
Kings landing awash with fire, hmm what might have happened under the mad king arys, or what will happen if dany sets her dragons upon the city.

Who are the goodies in this?
Is it the girl with the dragons?

That's what my dad kept saying all the way through the finale lol. Everyone's shades of Grey but Jon Snow, Robb, Eddard, Catyln, Tyrion, Davos, Arya, Bran, Rikkon, Timmon, Samwell and Dany can be considered better than the rest in a lot of respects.

It's also worth noting that the computer game for this show is out on the 8th for Playstation 3 and X Box 360. It has been in development before the HBO deal and is a prequel featuring a good few of the cast. Certainly not a triple AAA game but should be well worth a look for fans of the TV show.

Sky + this and just watched the first 8 episodes back to back, awesome. Last 2 tonight. I think they've done a great job in translating this from the books to TV.

I thought it was the M25 and I thought there were signs all round it saying

Abandon hope all ye who enter here

Am I missing something from the last two episodes? When we had the Battle of kings landing at the end we had the Dog and Sansa getting ready to leave. Then in the final we have Sansa still there.

Would have though she'd have done a runner with the Dog.

She clearly declines his offer and he leaves her in her room.

EDIT: From the game of thrones wikia

Sansa finds Sandor waiting for her inside. He tells her that he is going north and offers to take her with him. She is reluctant to leave the potential safety of being rescued by Stannis but he warns her that all men are killers.

yeah he offered and she declined..

does the dog return in the books? or has he left?

just replayed the scene and its not crystal clear, yes he offers and she says Stannis won't hurt her. He then goes into the killers speech. Then it ends with Sansa saying "you won't hurt me will you?". He then says no and he opens the door and the scene ends.

so based on that I assumed at the time that she'd changed her mind after the killer speech and was just looking for reassurance that the Dog won't hurt her before they leave.

I'm glad I haven't read the books as there does seem to be a fair bit of disappointment with aspects of the program from a fair few people.

I know 2 people who have read the books and one of them watched the first episode, hated it and hasn't watched any others whilst the second loves the program but constantly moans about this not being right, that actor not looking like the description in the books etc. Both hated Mark Addy as Robert Baratheon to the point of getting on my nerves going on about it.

I really enjoy the program and am glad I don't have knowledge of what's to come.

As i say - what would you have done differently? They had a ton of storylines to 'wrap up', a limited budget and perhaps most importantly a very limited amount of time.

I don't mind them changing things from the books at all, in fact a lot needs tweaking(they are hardly masterpieces!) but I think the way series 2 was wrapped up is a little bit too much of a departure from the story....especially the Winterfell bits.
There is a pretty simple thing they could have done which would have had that part make perfect sense, and been a set up for next series, that it didn't happen makes me wonder what direction it will take in series 3

Still great though
