Unemployed bussed in to steward jubilee, unpaid and asked to sleep rough

It is purely the defeatest attitude that I dislike.

By saying 'Oh but there are no jobs out there' has accepted that you will be long term unemployed.

I agree with you on what you said above though, people who just pop out kids and live off the countries money able to buy luxuries etc etc do suck, lets ship them all to somolia for the lols :p

Saying you need central heating or will die?
How on earth did my gread grandma live until she was 96 then? Magic perhaps?!?!

It was sarcasm homie, my room has single glazing too dude (And it's an attic room). Seriously, you should come hang out in winter sometime. It was seriously uncomfortalbe so much so I actually could not sleep some nights.

That is a bit ridiculous, if anyone on JSA manages this I want to know how i've lived on JSA for a while you cannot do anything but eat and pay your bills (Oh yeah no central heating I couldn't afford it so I near on died this winter).... so **** knows how these people get that stuff.

It's called breeding. People with no money seem to just breed and get free money for sperm created for free.

Answer sp1ke is find yourself a nice lass and have 12 kids, and get a lovely house and benefits :p.

How are they supposed to relocate if they don't have the money to do so?

What happens if all the people in the North that can't get a job all come down south, then there wont be any jobs down south.......

a bit of back bone and initiative is all that's needed... you've got a job, you need to move down to X city... stay in a hostel for your first month.... requires a bit of effort, requires motivation... people from third world countries are here in London today having made a move with much less resources than some unemployed northerner.

You are correct, but being unemployed shoud be tough enough to make people really try hard to get work.

When I see unemployed (long term) families with a few kids with:
50 inch 3D Plasma
New laptops for the kids
Two weeks in Barbados each year
Sky HD
Both parents smoke and drink
Decent looking clothes
Central heating
Double glazing
No council tax

....Makes me think I am doing something wrong by wanting to work for a living.

Virtually all of which are very cheap...

Show me the same families with sports cars, private island holidays... etc, etc. How you can begrudge a poor family saving up for those things is beyond me.

They are just desperately trying to get jobs but the economy is soooo bad and there are literally no jobs about. They head out first thing in the morning, apply to all the local businesses, come home late at night after dark and still nothing.

I have never seen anyone who has not been rather stupid having trouble on JSA. If you bought a house and lived at your limit without saving anything, don't come crying to the government when you lose your job and have to get rid of the house you borrowed way too much to buy.

When you see that, look up, as you will see a squadron of pigs flying overhead too.

I live near Stoke at home and go to Unviersity in Loughborough.
Both of which are in the Midlands. Neither is in the North.
The news also said that 20% of people in Stoke don't have any GCSEs. They are their own worst enemy to be honest.

Oh good, it's another obnoxious toryboi student. So your parents live near Stoke, presumably you've spent a lot of time there and yet you haven't seen much in unemployment or social depravation?

They got some free training... been out of work for ages... I fail to see a problem with this.

Unfortunately unless you put the hard work in, you'll be left with measly jobs... if they want better for themselves go out and get it with fighting spirit.

tbh I know a few people that were on the dole and went to college did construction courses and finished and ended up back on the dole, they couldn't find anyone to take them on and couldn't afford to get a van/tools, its who you know not what you know 95% of the time when going for a job.

I've seen supermarket managers that haven't a GCSE to their name, but that doesn't mean they don't have ambition or work hard.
I've seen college dropouts with several houses and a booming building business.
I wasn't talking about qualifications; I was talking about intelligence. Some people suffer from a lack of it and are mentally incapable of doing anything more than menial work.

The world owes you nothing, but some of the British working class seem to think it does.
Even the ones who have jobs?

I haven't seen much of unemployment because I am not lazy and was born with a little thing called common sense.
It is deeply saddening that people throw in the towel regarding finding a job within the first week.

Where are you getting all this rubbish from about 50" 3D plasmas, holidays, laptops etc.. then?

Sadly, a family friend is like that :(.
Two kids and doesn't work, doing some naff 2 day per week college course.

Will do but I don't think my meat and veg work anymore after this winter, they froze and fell off. OH WELL GUESS I'LL HAVE TO GET A JOB!

Sadly, a family friend :(.
Ask them how they are doing it then, when I was on benefits last year after being made redundant with very little way in compensation I struggled on £60 a week to pay my bills let alone heat my house, let alone afford 50" plasma TVs. I ended up selling a lot of my "luxury" items to try and help and even then I had to declare that extra income to the job center who 'adjusted' my benefits and I was no better off selling the items anyway.

Look at towns that have had an influx of immigrants, Blackpool is one of the worst places for jobs, Something like 6000 Polish live there in "season" and work in bars/hotels 10 to an house, they love it, money is great compared to Poland then go back home when the winter comes and trade drops.

More and more immigrants coming here, under cutting British people because to them the money is amazing and they can afford to have cheap accommodation because of so many of them living in a property.

They sound a bit soft tbh... they had 4 hours to sleep on the coach and were told to get their head down for a couple of hours under London bridge (article says they arrived at 3am and got up at 5:30 am - so 2.5 hours under the bridge... )... sounds like they had tents but didn't due to hassle of using them on concrete*... then they had to work in the rain wearing a waterproof supplied to them... (the horror) and later they were taken to a soggy campsite (damn that rain again). Not being funny but if you're going to work outside then you'll likely have to put up with rain and if you're going to do a job working at events then sleeping in tents/sleeping when traveling might well be part of the requirements.

Maybe the company was badly organised but I'd say the combination of people not used to working suddenly being faced with having to put up with less than ideal conditions and a guardian journalist looking for a story has made this look worse than it likely was.

*(strangely enough other unemployed people trouble putting up tents on concrete outside st pauls)
I still think it's terrible the hoops that these companies make people jump through to be considered for work. I think these 'trial' schemes should be made illegal. Nobody should have to work unpaid for more than an hour to see if they are suitable for a role, let alone work on bank holidays for long unsociable hours. It's grossly taking advantage of people's unemployment and it's repugnant.

Lol, the most pointless comment i have ever seen.

Seeing unemployment has nothing to do with ones laziness, you simply ignore it like most people do, the politicians certainly do.

Common sense is subjective.

Certainly won't disagree with you there cheets.

It's all down to how you are socially, not like that cant be learnt by itself? In my experience, as long as you're polite and put yourself across as professional people will generally have a good impression of you.

Lots of people at Alton Towers worked there, were asked back for the next season, then were turned down due to Slovaks getting all the work. I was one of those people/
So I got a job at a chippy, didn't like it so went McDonalds, didn't like it so went to Tesco, where I worked for 5 years. No use crying about it, just seek work elsewhere.
