Am i right to be a little troubled? 29yr old dude 18yr old girl

huh?

You stated that if they turn 15 in 2 weeks it is a crime ergo, that person is currently 14. You then state that if you waited those 2 weeks (making the person 15) it is ok?

The age of consent is 16, not 15. If someone is 15 years and 50 weeks old, it is illegal.

I think you are confusing yourself and I can't understand with the typo you made about the age of consent being 16 makes it hard to follow your point?

I used to always annoy my ex because I wouldn't nail her til her 15th birthday, she was like but I'm not going to be any different in two weeks and I was like, yeah but the law is the law!

Lets make it easy then:

At what age in years is it legal for a person within the UK to have sex?

Half age + 7 = 21.5, so it's out of the range of mathematically acceptable relationships.

As a 25 year old working in a school, i can't help but see even the 18 year olds as too young, so seems wrong to me in an ethical sense but when you look at the numbers alone without the back story it seems fine. It's a 50/50 one, based on the nature of where it has come from i'd say nay, if they had just met in a club or something then fine.

Well that's a completely arbitrary figure, just like the age of consent.

What is more important is the maturity of both individuals, which can vary despite age, and the motivations behind a relationship between the two, which obviously can vary and that is often where an age of consent is designed to protect children.

That said, there are plenty of people way over the age of consent who are as naive, or stupid, as are under and really it should be dealt with on a reasoned, individual basis.

People applaud elderly people celebrating 60+ years of marriage, who got together when they were 13-14 (sometimes with partners of a higher age), and yet to start such a relationship now is usually met with contempt, hated and abuse.

I'm not advocating an abolition of an/the age of consent, nor am I advocating older men/women seeking out young teenagers to copulate with, but to simply brand all those in varied-age relationships is frankly insane. And more often than not, the problems are caused by people outside of the relationship who intend to impose their own morality onto others.

It is down to basic instincts that males do tend to prefer younger women. Probably something to do with the instinct to have their seed falling on better and more fruitful pasture. Can't imagine that this case is one to raise too many eyebrows.

Just wondering if you understand a) what a paedophile is and b) what rape is...

Not sure if you're serious or just a troll.

By law if someone of age has sex with someone under age it is considered rape regardless of whether or not it was consensual. Again by law that would be a pedophile.

Whether or not by ethics and common sense that is so is another topic altogether.

only problem i see is because he's the teacher and she's the student, which sounds more trouble than it's worth tbh, regardless of the fact she's just about to leave

almost impossible to make any other judgements on whether it would work/is right apart from that

It's 15 mate.

Its 16 in the UK

Wrong.

Consensual sexual intercourse with someone aged 13-16 is NOT rape but is classed as -

"Sexual Activity with a Child" in E&W (http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2003/42/part/1/crossheading/child-sex-offences) or
"Intercourse with an Older Child in Scotland (http://www.legislation.gov.uk/asp/2009/9/section/28)

If the child is 12 or under then it is Rape -

E&W - http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga...-and-other-offences-against-children-under-13
Scotland - http://www.legislation.gov.uk/asp/2009/9/part/4/crossheading/young-children

Your other statement is also wrong.

A) Paedophile is someone who is sexually attracted to children.
B) Statutory Rape is having sex with someone who is below the age of consent.

Having a fourteen year old girlfriend and having sex with a fifteen year old fulfils both.

A 14/15 year old is still a child

Both A and B are wrong.

A - Attracted to prepubescent children
B - Statutory Rape is having sexual intercourse with children under 13 i.e. 0-12 inclusive.

Even when I put the LEGAL SOURCES in the post above yours you either ignore it or still think what the Government states is incorrect.

I think you need to read up on it, you are wrong on both counts, legally and in some cases (everyone is different and everyone grows up at different rates) morally.
