What film did you watch last night?

Alien³ 8/10

I hadn't seen Alien³ in many years, I always thought it was underrated, and had never seen the extended version so I watched that last night. It is even better than the original version. The only negative I can throw in is some of the Alien CGI work is terrible, especially near the end when it's running on the ceiling/walls.

[geek]It's not CGI, it's a super-imposed puppet, the only CGI in the movie is for a few shadows, debris blowing around outside and the main end scene with the exploding head.[/geek]

It's also my favorite movie of the trilogy.

The last house on the left

Jesus

I saw the original 70s movie. I had to stop half way through and did not continue. I stopped when the parents found out that the people who were in their home were responsible for killing their daughter.

After they raped and killed their daughter, I felt that the perpetrators need to be punished, but even I couldn't stomach the point at which the punishment was about to be dished out.

The point when they take a chisel to a man's tooth, was as much as I could take.

This is the only movie, out of 1000s which I have seen, where I had to stop watching due to the gore factor.

The modern version was ok and I enjoyed it. It was not as gory as the original.

Watched Tron Legacy this afternoon (on Blu ray). Demo worthy AV and found it an enjoyable film (saw previously in 3D cinema).

Yea it was Bluray I saw it on. I have a 5.1 system set up and it was rather good! :D

Off topic but. My reciever can do 7.1, is it worth me getting two new front speakers and relegating the current fronts to the sides?

Other night I watched Zombie Land = 7/10
Quite a fun film. Just a good laugh really. Actually more serious than I thought with nice little character relationships.

Last night watched Thor = 2/10
Hated it. Boring. Uninspired. Cheese fest. Poor CGI. Very weak plot. No character development. No emotion.

Just got back from seeing Prometheus and what the hell? why all the negative reviews, the only issue I found was that she was supposed to have 30 seconds of air left and all of a sudden, she's outside for ages lol.

8/10 though seriously, kinda didn't see why the space jockey's/Engineers didn't talk and explain why they wanted to kill the humans.

But I think it answered a lot of questions and it was nice to see another crazed Android added to the group lol

Safe House - 7/10

Solid action film, plenty or car chases, plenty of shoot outs and a story line that keeps you focused. I very much enjoyed it. Only a few iffy bits kept me from giving it an eight.

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl - 3/5

Entertaining pirate fun. Not quite as good as I last remembered it to be, but still better than the others.
