Not sure what's changed today, but really enjoying Act 1 inforno at the moment with my no AH build. Low DPS, Armor, res and dodge, not struggling at all other than 1 or 2 crazy mob pack affix rolls, which I either kited or died once on. Managed to down SK on my 2nd attempt, first attempt I failed with serenity and got 1 shotted by his mega attack, but didnt drop below 60% HP before that.

I did on the other hand just get 1 shotted by some white mob on fields of misery, so my thought may change within a few minutes.

I'm of the same opinion, i think people rely on SS way too much. I use Vault and Caltrops and have a much better survival rate than when i use SS.

The massive selling point of Smoke Screen isn't that it makes you invulnerable for 1-1.5s, its that it does that along with preventing the enemies from seeing you AND breaking Jailer (I presume you can activate it as you fly through the air when you've been Vortexed too?).

I refuse to use it but Vault is so inferior in so many situations its not even funny. You can't break out of Jailer, you can't actually jump over Walls, you can only jump past the mob and hope they don't hit you anyway.

Just worked out how to farm 500k/hour on my DH (Not including drops).
Wish I would have known this sooner.

Easy too, anyone can do it, but you gotta spend money to make money.

People are spending mils on getting certain items and being able to get 100k+ in a relatively short amount of play.

That's quite subjective. Yes, I can get 100k in fairly short amount of time, but I've also put in 130+ hours on that character so it stands to reason that I would be able to make a bit of money. That doesn't mean I have millions and millions of gold, that is reserved for the gold farmers, twinkers and the lucky ones who manage to get a decent drop.

It's clearly not the only way to progress because people have got to act 2 Inferno on Hardcore.

Yes, and they totally haven't spend hundreds of hours grinding early levels for gear.

Anyone who doesn't like it are just peeved that it doesn't suit them or it will hinder their progress.

Nope.

Diablo 2 had you lose 10% exp, durability and chunks of money you had on you when you die. Gold was still worth nothing in a matter of months. Diablo 3 will go the same way and high repair prices is a GREAT idea to counteract it.

Firstly, this isn't Diablo 2. Secondly you've just proved why it's pointless. The harsh penalties obviously didn't do anything, losing money through a game-forced dump is the same as being forced to click on a guy to repair all your broken armor.

Everything i said was near enough fact. You're just ill-educated.

I giggled.

All from Siege breaker runs Act 3 Inferno.

Still no legendary yet however, across all my characters!

Over time though, can't you see how gold will become disposable? It's fair enough that higher levels earn more gold, i didn't dispute that. The games 3 weeks old and as more and more people earn more gold, it will become more and more disposable.

Surely that's fair enough? It's part of what Diablo is about, it's the farming and the loot.

lol, that's my point, it isn't Diablo 2. Why should it suffer from similar economic shortcomings? Like i said for the first couple of months it was all about ridiculous amounts of gold, then high-level Gems became the accepted form of bartering, then the Stone of Jordan (a rare but useful legendary) and it was changing all the time because of the games own broken economic system. Diablo 3 will go exactly the same way unless the relevant changes are made.

Actually the biggest difference is that item drop tables are tied into the AH system as well as the no money limit cap, where as D2 had the opposite... lol

Either way the game is being ruined by the community.

i agree, blizzard needs a gold sink to control the amount of gold flowing to the players
otherwise it will suffer the same fate like the free mmorpgs where gold becomes useless and an expensive item becomes the new currency

I think gold will always be the currency in D3, purely because of the auction house. If there was no auction house like in D2 gold would collapse quickly.

A1 is a farce, it's not comparable to A2 in any way whatsoever. :p A1 > A2 Inferno is the biggest difficulty jump in the game, it's pretty strange.

Why aren't a couple of you identifying the rares and doing/vendoring them? instead just filling your bank with them, am I missing something? :P
