Utter tripe.
So you're saying that someone who eats on average 2000 calories a day and burns 2500 but only eats at 10pm will somehow gain weight?

Not heard that before, just stuff like this
Reading that linked page gives you the impression that Pepsi Max and the like are bascially liquid poison, by listing a huge list of almost every health problem you can think of and saying that apsartame *may* be responsible. Haven't read the whole of the site but it comes across a bit light on actual facts. There may very well be health problems linked to aspartame but just listing a huge list like that does leave you thinking she is scaremongering to a degree, for whatever reason. This is the trouble with diet advice, it is hard to filter out those who have some personal agenda with it.
Publicity of this controversy has been spread through an elaborate health scare[10] and "Internet smear campaign"[11] involving hoax[10][12][11] e-mails repeating Betty Martini's widely circulated conspiracy theory. Her undocumented claims are still repeated by thousands of self-published Web sites.
Aspartame has been found to be safe for human consumption by more than ninety countries worldwide,[13][14] with FDA officials describing aspartame as "one of the most thoroughly tested and studied food additives the agency has ever approved" and its safety as "clear cut".[4] The weight of existing scientific evidence indicates that aspartame is safe as a non-nutritive sweetener.[8]
My gf was really shocked when I showed her that one can of full-fat coke had the same calories as 100 cans of Coke Zero / Pepsi Max. Fizzy drinks are one of the biggest culprits of empty calories.

Exercise!
I'll make you feel a little better - I got a 37" waist. It was 39 though. And the reduction came because I completely eliminated junk food. No "fun" days, no "treat" days just stopped cold. Also I eat much more fruit n veg.
I now eat regularly & exercise 7 hrs/week. I was 90.5kgs and now Im 83kgs. Doesnt seem like much but Im gunning for 75kgs and a 35 incher waist.
Quitting the junk (jams, cookies, chips, crisps, pies, burgers, pizzas, pop, candy, margarine, bread etc) has made a massive difference. It was not easy, oh no it was not. I had cravings so bad that it was like a drug withdrawal. But I figured that I needed to quit putting trash into my system and thinking that way helped.
Think of your body as an engine - why are you putting junk into it? Eat to live, not the other way around
It will not be easy but if you have mental discipline and determination you can do it. Also (and this is something Im still bad at doing) drink lots of water. Carry a bottle and keep sipping.
Currently trying to do this, i totally agree. Its like being an ex crack / heroin junkie who used to snowball just to be able to get up in the mornings .. I used to wake up in the morning and like a zombie walk to the kitchen and get cereal, although have very little recollection of it in the morning - only the empty bowl in my room.
Will power has to be strong, eliminate other sources of the junk , even if it means avoiding certain friends you know like to chow down on cow products - seriously, sounds extreme but it does help.. Out of sight out of mind..
I need to get to about 14 stone and am heffing around at 17 at the moment, not a good look, and it doesnt help my already messed up knee..
Strength and honor !

Out of interest is Lucozade really fatty?
I drink waaaayyyy too much of that stuff, I used it to get off coffee and I'm hooked on that instead now![]()

500ml fizzy orange lucozade is 350 calories, lol
Carbs aren't the enemy. Poor carbs are though - our western diets have become so dependent on heavily processed carb sources that it's no wonder our body craves them. Our bodies instinctively want to get fat/store fat - as long as you're eating the right amounts and being active, it doesn't really matter what you eat as long as you're not in a clorie surplus, HOWEVER, eating the right things will not only help accelerate your goals, but make you feel better, be better for you, and enhance your exercise and general well being. I'm afraid it is just fact, that poor quality highly process and refined carbs are just not good for a healthy lifestyle. Carbs are, however important, as long as you're eating correctly.
